lmarash
Glendale College Offers Study Abroad in Armenia in Summer 2007 After a successful Study Abroad Program in Armenia in 2005, Glendale Community College is again organizing a trip to Armenia for summer 2007. The nearly month long program runs from June 20 to July 16. It is unique combination of college credit courses and extensive recreational activities during numerous sight-seeing trips. Registration is open to GCC students as well as students from other colleges and universities. Participants will have the opportunity to earn 6 units of transferable college credit in undergraduate courses that cover Armenian history and politics as well as art, architecture, language, music and other aspects of Armenian culture. Highlights of the high-energy program include four days in Nagorno-Karabagh and frequent excursions to educational and recreational sites throughout Armenia. The photo gallery of the 2005 program gives an idea of what the 2007 program will be like. The gallery is at: www.glendale.edu/marashlian. The instructors for the courses will be Dr. Levon Marashlian from GCC and Dr. Levon Chookaszian and Dr. Lilit Galstian from Yerevan, along with several guest lecturers with expertise in specific areas. Some of the lectures/discussions will be at the Yerevan State University Foreign Guest House, where the group will be housed, while other lectures/discussions will be conducted on-site at various locations. Arpa
Glendale College Offers Study Abroad in Armenia in Summer 2007 ++++++ go to the GCC Study Abroad website at www.glendale.edu/studyabroad, or contact the Armenia Program Faculty Director, Professor Marashlian, at levonm@glendale.edu or call directly at 818 240-1000 ext. 5463. Barev Levon, Բարեւ Լեւոն. Welcome, Բարի Գալուստ. When I saw your screen name "lmarash" I suspected as to who you are. We know who you are. I hope you stay and teach us real history. In the meantime I have a few bones to pick. By now you may know that I am the official nit-picker here. To give you a hint, your and Levon CH's surnames. To understand what I am talking about, search my posts addressing the L and J, not to forget Levon's "siz" factor in our so called Armenian surnames. I hate to sour your very informative post. Please accept my and the entire forum family's warm welcome BTW. Please forward my warmest greetings to Levon Ch. He will know who I am when you remind him of Prof. Frinta of SUNY/Albany. PS. You promised to air the "brochure". It did not register. Is this what you meant? http://www.glendale.edu/marashlian/STUDY%2...%20BROCHURE.pdf Edited January 1, 2007 by Arpa
