Ashot
Garmag, no accusations, it's just the post you are referring to is so outdated that it is unbelievable!!! Please notice that since 2006 the whole world has changed, so I don't think Aronyan did not find a sponsor within this 2 years, I am not being offensive, just want to clear everything up... it always sounds as misinformation when you someone tells you something that doesn't match with today's reality...... GevorgP
Sas What about Tigran Petrosyan, if you try hard you may find some Turkish relationship there; they need it desperately. Even if it is true, why do you speak it up after winning in the tournament. Why didn't you talk about it before? Do you want to convince Armenians that he is not Armenian? Dear Garmag People usually sponsor someone who is poor, Aronian isn't. About the sponsorship I told two years ago and it was related to our Chess Team, when it was not the World Champion yet, and the article context doesn't relate to individual Chessmasters. Ashot is right; now we are in absolutely different situation. By the way the topic is the first article of this thread. I don't want to get involved in this kind of "discussion" any more on this subject, it makes no sense. Congratulations Armenians on your Chessmaster; Aronian's outstanding achievement!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not knowing if Aronyan had found sponsors since 2006... it was an innocent query that turned into all this...but it was there right? As far as datedness is concerned... You mean like history should never be taken seriously since things change? Ok it's a joke don't be offended ! Still congratulations to our champion Aronyan. AVO
Sorry Gevorg, Mi qich arach @ngnem and sayCongratulations with a win. With one round to spare Levon Aronian has won the 17th Amber Blindfold and Rapid Tournament. In Round 10 the Armenian grandmaster drew both the blindfold and the rapid game against Vladimir Kramnik. This result sufficed to keep a 2½ point lead over his closest pursuers with only two games to go. http://www.amberchess2008.com/

I thought Azerbaijan will win because Akopian will lose..., but he won. Next will be hard, it's Russia. If they achieve a draw Armenia has chances to win the tournment. MosJan
AZERI DEFEATED BY ARMENIANS In the sixth round of World Chess Olympiad Armenian men team defeated the team of Azerbaijan by 2,5:1,5 points. This was the first failure of Azeri team in the current Olympiad. Currently Armenian chess players have 11 points and they continue leading the Olympiad. Levon Aronyans rival Teimour Radjabov said in his interview that he had a headache. He said that Aronyan had perfect self protection technique, and that he did not manage to win him. Quite opposite to our men team, Armenian women team was defeated by Ukrainian team.

Harut
How the hell is Vietnam at the 8th position. All thewir players score under 2600. domino, are you supprised at their success or you want to know why they are at 8th place? if the later, then the first tie breaker is the simple calculation of the overall match result, 2 points for win, 1 point for draw, 0 point for lose. as you can see, overall they had pretty easy opponents, giving them the opportunity to accumulate the needed points to end up at 8th place...
