Think of something more daring, something that will truely show my comitment and loyalty to the forum. don't get me started about yerevan-moskva...ive already discussed that in another topic, i just find that whole project useless, disgusting and degrading for the armenian culture, its worse than the cheap rabiz crap out there (as opposed to good rabiz, which DOES exist!) first of all, i dono if its a political project, but am i the only to find it annoying when the lyrics of great old songs are changed to russian (i mean the project is to make the russian artists sing armenian...why do we ALWAYS have to accomodate them somehow?), it was disgusting to hear sayat nova sang in russian with the deblek (!!!) as for sona, i don't undestand the point of her being the armenian artist in the couple singing the song, since she pretends to have this russian or i-don't-know-armenian annoying accent...whats with that? shes not the only one btw who sings like that, alot of new armenian artists(girls and guys) do that and its just annoying, for example they were showin one of elvina makarian's songs (i think its called "baby"?) WHAT WAS THAT? i have to say i happen to be an animal show lover, and the other day i was downstairs in my room when i heard like a sound comin from the upstairs tv... im being honest to say i thought it was a sheep making noise!!! i went up to see and i was extremely surprised to find out it was elvina singing...and i'm not exaggerating...it happened! Why cant the armenian producers have more backbone? If the russians really wanted to participate in this "project" then they should have their act together and put a little but more effort into getting the songs right. If they dont want to put the effort, then they should not participate. Nobody was forcing them. Sona. I never liked her singing, but for some reason, that one song i put up when i started this topic, works. i like that one, and that's why i was questioning whether that's really her. Ok so here is the deal. ara gevorgian's song was played at the olympics BUT not by armenians, but the georgians. the music was a success and helped that georgian girl's performance overall. What did the armenian pair decide to dance under? The chorus of the Govinda prayers as recorded on The Radha Krsna Temple album, which is an indian song that reflects hinduism. Now look, i dont mind armenians enjoying other cultures, i am actually for it. BUT, this was the first time, INTERNATIONALLY, that we presented a pair, straight from armenia, to compete and show that we exist. If the canadians danced under this, it would have been fine, but for us, we first needed to build some foundations as armenians at the olympics and show OUR culture so people can notice us the "newcomers" and say wow, the armenian music is beautiful. But what do we do instead, dance under a hindu song that we probably dont even know what it means. When that georgian girl danced under ara gevorgian, every commentor was amazed. Some of them probably thought it's a georgian piece. I think armenians watch too much indian movies. Wow, how did i remember all of this all of the sudden. Oh well...
