Boghos
Was in a number of places: Tallin - right in the center of the Old Town is the Armenian Honorary Consulate, The Union of Armenians of Estonia and the Tallin Armenian Society, if I remember properly. All in the same building with the flag outside and trilingual bronze plaques. In Paris at CDG I bought L´Immeuble Yacoubian by Alaa el Aswany, an Egyptian writer that is apparently in great evidence now (I was only acquainted with Naguib Mahfouz). In Stockholm there is a rather modest but with a pleasant owner carpet store called Arax. And this is the end of my reporting on sightings of Armenian things. Of course there is much more to this trip including bottles of Insignia...

Arpa
Hey Boghos. I have been looking for you in the news itrm below. Unless, of course, you go by a pseudonym which explains your absence. Does this mean from now on Yerevan will have an unlimited supply of (Brazil) nuts and Brazilian coffee? ======== BRAZIL INTENDS TO OPEN AN EMBASSY IN ARMENIA A1+ [02:21 pm] 14 September, 2006 Today Renate Stille, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Armenia, presented letters of credential to RA President Robert Kocharyan. Robert Kocharyan congratulated the Ambassador on the new post and underlined that he expects intensification of the Armenian - Brazilian cooperation connected with Brasilia's decision to open an embassy in Armenia. In her turn, Mrs. Stille mentioned that the embassy will work more efficiently trying to enhance economic ties. The cooperation of the two countries in her words may contribute to the development of the Armenian community in Brazil. By the way, Renate Stille had met representatives of the local Armenian community before her arrival to Armenia. I really enjoy all Marquis Philips wines but Insegnia is out of this world.
Boghos
Thanks, dear Azat. I also had a very nice Australian Pinot Noir and my first ever Croatian wine, which was very peculiar and went very well with the beef I had. Unfortunately I can´t recall their names. Also Chateau Nenin 99' (great value) and Smith Haut Lafite white, also both very good. An excellent Trockenbeerenauslese that I could have bought but didn´t (stupid of me). More will come o mind as soon as the jet lag goes away. Maral jan, pictures: yes, some, I confess that in spite of being here for quite a while I don´t know how to post a picture, but no matter, I will. Actually the foreign service of Brazil is very professional, hopefully something good will come of it. The arguments here have not been on who would represent Brazi in Armenia, but the opposite, so you can imagine what kind of mess this has become... You seem to infer that there is a tug of war as to who will be the ambassador to Brazil. I did know this. It seems several South American countries, including Brazil are represented by the ambassador to Argentina. http://www.armeniaforeignministry.com/htms...assiesList.html In the meantime, how about our own Paolo? After all how much more appropriate can it be. Our own Sb. Boghos to represent us at San Paolo?
Boghos
Yes, there is an ambassador in Argentina but we have a consul general in São Paulo and there were talks about an embassy in Brasilia. It is actually a matter of donating it, to be quite frank. Paulo is busy with other things, protocol is no longer one of my strong points. Azat
Boghos, next summer I am coming to Brazil and Argentina for vacation. as time gets closer I will ask you for some points of interest for a first time visitor. To top it all off Aznavour is going to be there for the farewell tour of South America. :)
