Arpa
Does anyone know what's the english equivalent for eginj? Yeghij, variation , yeghinj is Nettle. Եղիճ/Եղինճ See the corresponding passages in Armenia here. http://www.elkalima.com/pdf/a/ot/proverbs.pdf Job.30 [7] Among the bushes they brayed; under the nettles they were gathered together.. Prov. 24 [31] And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down. It is described as a stinging plant, weed. My instinct tells me that the word is probably loosely used to mean Poison Ivy. I cannot find mention of the latter in Armenian sources except that Ajarian does use the word ivy/բաղեղ/baghegh somewhere in his monograph.
