Yes Armenian Music Library is no longer free to all anymore, but for $8.00 per month, you get unlimited download of songs at MP3 128kbps. Free members will soon wil be able to download only sample songs.

To keep the site going, we had no other choice, as we failed to get ANY sponsor to the site.

In the future if we do get one, we will change it back to free to all registered members.

Hope this explaines the reasons why.

Vatche jan - I encourage most any Armenian web site and – I wish more and more quality web sites are opened - Vatche jan I like to make a point, if your offering the full songs not just the part – or sample – don’t get offended.

So for $8 your letting your members to download songs ? correct ???

And the songs are like CD quality ??

Now haw much can a site like this cost ???

500mb web page costs ~ $50 - $65

merchant verification service costs - $50 - $75 - ( I see your using Pay pal - it’s free unless you have a order)

lets say in total you spend $250 each months

Vache jan if you can not make $250 to cover the expenses – it’s not worth the hassle keeping a web site like this – specially wan one of this days one of the recording studios will slap you with a huge law suit – yes for charging $$ each months to let your members download songs “near CD quality”

I have found atlist 10 cd’s on your site that are not authorized by the recording studio – to be sold like this –

I understand that you have a new web site - and you like to offer something extra to your visitors – but everything has it’s limits.

It’s so nice to download – but it’s hurts BIG TIME - studios are charging more and more money – since their losing money on the internet

It’s funny haw you disable the right click on your web site to “prevent” someone of using your text / by copy and pasting / your protecting your work your investment but at the same time not the work of the others who spend way more than $250 on their products.

This requires a new thread, but never the less.

The cost of having a site like Armenian Music Library is much more than web hosting costs. We have most contacts and our intention is to pay royalties to all artists, other wise we might as well close the site or call ourselves a 'warez' site.

Our current web site is already filled over 10Gb! To cover costs we had to introduce subscription costs, and that charge will include royalties.

Having low quality songs did not attract any sponsors to the site, nigther did listening to low quality songs did attarct any original CD buyers to keep the site going.

We have not had any subscribers, yet, and we are not acepting any at this stage anyway, until we work out all copyright issues.

We were expecting this (everyone wanting everting for free). This gave us more live report on our expectations and a new direction for the site, hopfully to come up with win-win situation.
