DominO123
armenians.ca has been registered by a Turk to slanders Armenians and accusing them of genocide. The site is registered under the name 'Kazim Karabekir' which obviously is not that persons true name. CIRA manages Canadian domain name registrations and to shut the site we should contact them. Under two bases that site could be removed, first the contact information for at least the persons name is not accurate, second, which is the most important point and also the reason for my request, is that they are fraudulently using an ethnic group by registering their names to slander them. I threatned yesterday the person who I believe is the webmaster and today the site doesn't work. Either he answered to the threat or the site is simply shut down. In any cases, it is not permissible to use an ethnic group to slander it. If people here could contact CIRA, I will really appreciate it. I need also a Canadian resident, a Canadian Armenian organization or whatever that is willing to accept the transfer of the domain name after the service cancelling of the idiot who registered it. DominO123
my problem was on .ca that i can't register one from USA i was just rejected by .ca on 9 .ca 3 days a go It takes a Canadian residant for armenians.com, an Armenian organization would be a good start. Maybe Zareh would know what to do.

DominO123
ok then lets do the same on them No MosJan, WIPO has legal cases involving similar things. It can even be considered as defamation. First we need to contact CIRA, the guy first of all hasn't provided his accurate name which is enough to submit him a warning. This might be enough to get him unregister it. We need someone residant in Canada that will accept registering that domain name to protect it from such things. Then you're right, an Armenian organization should register the domain. There are plenty of organizations in Montreal.
Yervant1
Domino why close down this clown site, let them advertise the issue. They are only making statements with no solid proof to back up their claims so visitors after the visit might do other research and get to the truth. I think we should fill their guest book with messages that because of your site I did more research on other sites and came to conclusion that Genocide is a fact and thank them for their help. Specially if e-mails come from US they will panic even more, fearing that US might accept AG like Canada did.

Yerevant, they can have any contents they want, I don't care of the content of their dumb site. What I oppose is the name of that domain name. Armenians.ca is own property as Armenians, they could register any domains they want for all I care, but armenians, armenia or any such words are for me out of question. The first thing people will think when they search about armenians is to type armenians.info, .con, .ca etc.

ARF Toronto has armenian.ca name so they just added "s" at the end, probably these people are from Toronto.

Yervant1
I don't know about that. Do this suckers site work on your computer. It was done on mine the entire day. Yes it does work but some links are very slow. May be they put this together in a hurry after TVO decided to air the AG documentary assuming that people will be curious and try to find more info about it. Of course they will search under Armenian or Armenians, since Armenian is taken they used Armenians. I'm not familiar with how IP works may be they blocked your IP. When you open their site it says that your IP is being logged why don't you try with another PC with different IP.

How is that possible, can they block an IP address so that it points to a dead link?
vava
I'll contact CIRA - I have already registered a few domains. As an existing voting CIRA member, maybe I,ll have a tiny bit of clout. I'm not afraid of any stupid death threats.

Z'areh
It takes a Canadian residant for armenians.com, an Armenian organization would be a good start. Maybe Zareh would know what to do. Q, I will be asking around for a solution about that. BTW, vava I see that Q will be giving you a DVD , just in case if the DVD doesn't work I have it on video. I thought it was well done, it could have had another three hours, but for a 1 hr. program it was good. as I was watching I thought of what you said,Q, how much an odar would have understood the situation. I think an odar would have been confused, such as: did Turkey attack an independent Armenia or what, the millet system?? Young turks revolution giving Armenians a sense of new hope etc.... I'm not sure that an ordinary odar (somewhat uneducated one in the history of the period) would have grasp the issue in its totality. But one thing for sure, to all it was very clear that the Armenians were hunted down and killed in the truest sence of a Genocide by the Turks.
