Sergey And Lusine Khachatryan

Guys, I'm on such a high right now! I'm soooo proud to be an Armenian. Tonight I had the privilege to hear Sergey and Lusine Khachatryan perform at Alex Theater in Glendale. Wow! They are excellent, excellent, excellent. I'm beyond words. To think that they are so young, especially Sergey, and yet the professional playing they exhibit is truly remarkable. I cannot wait to see them surpass the Hilary Hahns and Joshua Bells in fame, because Lusine and Sergey certainly surpass them in musicality and high level of professionalism. Bravo to them! Again, did I say I'm so proud?

Anoushik jan you are going to kill me...

1st, I thought Sergey and Lusine where great. Sergey much more...

However the concert sucked and not because of them but because of the audience that they had drawn. The tickets are tooo cheap thus you get the grandparents and the kids. too noisy. dont know when to clap and when not to clap, rabiz gyadas were talking on the cell couple of times. Its just not fair to those to talented kids. :(

I would have preffered double prices and half the audiance

Don't worry Azat, I'm not going to kill you :P

I'm sorry you had a bad experience from where you were sitting. We were in the balcony - the only seats left towards the left so that we can see the pianist's hands - and all seemed pretty ok. Two cell phones did go off, but overall everyone was listening quietly. Except for the clapping between movements the audience resembled otar audiences of Classical music.

The one thing that annoyed us was the guy giving a speech after the concert was over. First of all he started "educating" the audience about the rules of clapping between multi-movement works (it was pointless to discuss it after the concert was over), and second, he started getting all personal by mentioning that the date is a coincidence for his mother's birthday, and other such nonsense. Except for this, I think my family's experience was not bad that it took away from listening to a great performance. And personally I was surprised to see a sold out audience and such high number of younger people.
