I olso know Mahsum Kirmizigul. He has olso one very beatiful song "Hemserim".It's a song about exile and can be sung by everyone who is on exile, far away from his home.

There some good turkish singer like for exemple Ahmet Kaya. He is like our Ruben Hahverdian or Artur Meschian. He sing about war, peace and people's life.He was popular but now is't so much because he said in publice that he support Kurds.

Mahsun Kirmizigul is a Kurdish singer supporting MHP(fascist party) of Turkey. The reason he sings in other languages is to sell out albums.Ahmet Kaya sadly died in France a few months ago because of his speech about Kurdish people he'd be prisoned if he ever get back to Turkey.

Mike,

I don't like Erkin Koray, but I do like Mogollar(means The Mongolians)'s both musical and political influene. They got a famous rock prize in 70's in France and the band started music again maybe 8 years ago or something.

Did you like them?

Levon,

The same company that reissued the old Erkin Koray and Mogollar LPs has now put out one by 3 HUR-EL. I bought it and it's alright on first listen. What's their story?

BTW, I think I still like that Erkin Koray LP better than the Mogollar one.
