MosJan Posted November 11, 2005 Report Share Posted November 11, 2005 CONSTRUCTION OF ANOTHER LINK OF 'NORTH-SOUTH' HIGHWAY COMPLETED "Vank-Kichan Crossway," another section of "North-South" highway was completed on November 7. It stretches 5,1 kilometers. PR Department of "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund informed that the construction of that section began in 2004 on the financial sources accumulated in the fund-raising telethon. Naira Melkumian, executive director of "Hayastan" All Armenian Fund, Arkady Ghukasian, NKR President, NKR PM Anushavan Danielian, Ashot Ghulian, speaker of NKR Parliament, were present at the official ceremony of opening the road. The statesmen said that the greater part of the construction is completed and 25,7 km of the highway is bound to be constructed. NKR President Arkady Ghukasian emphasized the strategic and economic importance of the road for the country. They also touched upon "Revival of Artsakh" project directed to restoration of infrastructure in Mardakert region. Naira Melkumian expressed hope that the November 27 "Telethon-2005" will help raise required finances for the implementation of the project's first stage.
