MosJan Posted October 19, 2005 Report Share Posted October 19, 2005 'I VISITED MY TRUE FRIENDS' Chief of Russian Army Headquarters Says Col-Gen Yuri Baluyevski, head of the Supreme Headquarters of Russia, first deputy defense minister, arrived in Yerevan yesterday with a 3-day working visit. The high-ranking guest answered media's question at the Zvartnots airport. "I am visiting today my true friends. Being members of Collective Security Treaty, Armenia and Russia are the closest allies today. During these working visit we shall discuss military as well as socio-economic issues with the defense minister and the prime minister," Baluyevski said. Asked about the key issues on the agenda, the Col-Gen said: "Key issues are securing peace in this region, military-technical cooperation and joint training of armed forces." The Russian delegation will meet today prime minister Andranik Margarian, defense minister Serge Sargsian, head of the Armenian Supreme Headquarters Col-Gen Mikael Harutyunian and Russian ambassador to Armenia Nikolay Pavlov. Within the framework of the meeting agenda, the delegation will visit Matenadaran, will lay a wreath to the monument of Armenian Genocide victims and will meet His Holiness Karekin II Catholicos of all Armenians.
