"The Cilicia" is a copy of an Armenian ship of the 13th century. "The Cilicia" sails to promote the Armenian history and culture. The French call of "the Cilicia" will take place in the port of Marseille, in front of the city-hall. "The Cilicia" has been rebuilt thanks to informations stemmed from medieval scripts and miniatures with techniques and technologies of the 13th century. The ship is manned with traditional requisites (navigation tools, goods, food, clothes) in such a way to reproduce the medieval sailors' living conditions. "The Cilicia" which will come alongside on Sunday July 3rd 2005 will remain 3 days in Marseille. It will be possible to go on aboard during its call. Appointment on SUNDAY JULY 3RD 2005 AT 10.30 A.M. In front of the city-hall - Marseille (France). In the presence of His Excellency the Ambassador of Armenia in France Edward NALBANDIAN, the singer and actor Charles AZNAVOUR, numerous VIP's and Marseille's authorities.
