Bakersfieldian Posted June 4, 2005 Report Share Posted June 4, 2005 Don't forget to order UFC 53 - Heavy Hitters June 4th - 10PM EST - 7 PST All of the fights look really good but the one none of us want to miss will be when Karo "The Heat" Parisyan takes on BJJ master Matt Serra. As I see it: The UFC titles this event "Heavy Hitters". What they should have named it was "Changing of the Guard". It's out with the old and in with the new breed of champions and rising MMA stars. As usual, the typical BJJ hacks are all picking Serra to win. When I have confronted them about how many times they would have lost money betting against Karo, they have no response. If Karo wins by submission, they'll say Serra was past his prime and would have easily beaten him in his younger years. If Karo wins by decision, they will say the judges are fixed. I don't want to mention the other alternative but they will dancing in the streets and saying Karo was never that good anyway. Also, you will continue to hear Karo's style referred to as simply "crazy Judo" with no mention of HJJ (Hayastan Jiu-Jitsu). The only one's they will give credit as their own style (which is actually Judo but without the good throws) are the Gracies and Brazil.
