During the award ceremony dedicated to Isabekian, Mayor of Yerevan Robert Nazarian emphasized that the title of Honorary Citizen is only a small part of the appreciation that the painter deserves.Edward Isabekian is famous for a number of paintings depicting memorable events in Armenian history: “Reply to Hazkert,” “Avarair,” “David Bek” and the still incomplete “Igdir.” The painter is from Igdir by birth.
