A little riddle :)

I didn't want to post this under "art", I'm not THAT conceited, lol, but we didn't have a poetry section, so here it is.

This was meant to be a metaphor for something. Any guesses as to what the metaphor is--what it's symbolic of? (hint: has to do with the girl and the director)

The camera zooms in.

She lies on her bed, her face to the wall.

Alone.

The darkness pushes her down,

The silence deafens her.

The walls close in.

They crush her.

They crush her to pieces.

She melts into dust.

Tears flow freely.

Gently at first, a silver brook;

Then rushing, gushing, bellowing thunder.

The pallor of her face framed with the dark waves of her tresses; She's death itself.

She opens her eyes and sees nothing.

Her lips half part in a ghastly smile.

There used to be life in her eyes.

There used to be life.

The camera cuts away;

There she is, there--laughing,

And here she walks,

A queen in all her royal splendor.

The sunlight combs through her hair.

She blushes, she smiles.

"Cut!", cries the director, "it's too much"

"Too much happiness, too much life"

"Pain is what sells," he says.

The writer protests.

The director laughs.

And now a drop of water.

The circle of pain widens, the waves travel.

She's shaking now--with fits of laughter.

The drops keep falling;

One after another, more and faster:

Now a stream, now a river,

A flood of blood,

The pain in her heart.

The lights come on.

She's all dressed up.

She rises from her bed,

Her shoulders exposed

In overripe sensuality.

She pulls down her skirt,

Brushes away her tears.

She looks into the camera,

And then apologetically, with a forced smile,

Her eyes downcast, her voice trembling with fear,

The terrible innocence in her fresh face lost behind the rich morbidity of her blood red lips:

"It's my birthday," she says.

"Cut!!!"

"It's a magnificent film," the director decides.

"One of my best."

Well, that kills my whole theory! I thought it might have been a death of the mother during childbirth where the father has a camcorder in the delivery room. And the narration seamlessly goes between the mother dying, the mother's spirit and the baby being born.

I hope this isn't some kind of Rorschach test...Oh well, I make no bones about my life being centered around parenting.
