hmmmmmm. Did you see "The Sweet Hereafter" and "Exotica"? I think that are much better films.

I remember reading/hearing that Stephan from ArmenianArts.com was going to have a 5-6 film festival of Atom's works, I wonder if he ever did?

By the way, welcome back. Where have you been hiding? :) Hope to see you more often Sulamita jan.

Actually those are the two I saw. You know what I did not like about them? For one, he uses the same actors and actresses ... Also, the events were sort of similar: the car accidents ("The Sweet ..." and "Exotica") the babysitter situation (again "The Sweet ..." and "Exotica"), the smuggling ("Exotica" and "Ararat"), homosexuality (again "Exotica" and "Ararat"). His style of jumping back and forth in time (used in all 3 movies). I mean it's a nice tool but why overuse it? I think it worked best for Ararat. Overall, for me, Ararat was his best work. The acting was exceptional and his talent really shined through.

I just remembered. I saw "Calendar" a few years back and from what's left in my memory, he did a fine job with that also.

Oh Azat jan. I'm back and I hope to be around for a while. I was going through premature mid-life crisis :) I was studying for the GMAT for a month or so (with the plans of applying for the MBA program), then I changed my academic goals, threw the book out the window and started cramming for the GRE. I took the exam last Thursday and now I can finally breath and do things I enjoy.

Cool!!!! Congratulations. What are you planning to study? When do you get the score? And the last question, where do you plan to go to school?

I really miss school. I want to go back someday and just take some classes for fun.

Well, I have already applied to the Dep. of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at UCLA. My field of study will be Armenian Studies. Concentration: History of Armenian Theater and Cinema.

I already know the score on 2 of the 3 sections and I will find out the 3-rd score in about two weeks. You see with the GRE CAT you find out your scores on the multiple choice sections right after you take the test. You also have the option of canceling the scores (but w/o seeing them) at the end of the test. For the 3-rd section you write 2 essays and that has to be graded obviously. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. You see, I applied in February and the deadline was Dec 30. And I just took the GRE. I don't know what my chances are this year but I'm remaining optimistic :)

Wow, good luck. I hope you make it.

I took the GMAT some 10 years ago and I think it took like a month or two to get the results. Never studied for it. :) I thought it would be a good idea to take it once to get a good understanding for it and then study for it. But my score was really high so I never took it again. I was lucky.
