nairi
I can't believe that out of, what? 800,000 Armenians in Moscow not ONE, not a single ONE showed support for Anastasia Grebenkina and Vazgen Azrojan. Not that I'm into flag shows, but it is often the only way to be recognized! I did not see one flag. The stupid b&*%^$ of a commentor on Eurosport had every right to say that Azrojan was a Ukranian since he's born in the Ukraine! This is what we do and then we dare to "be proud". The free dance is on tomorrow night. No excuse for any Armenian in Russia! It's in the evening, after work.
Armen
There is no chance anyone is going to be there, Nairi. Recently, the newly established Armenian HOCKEY (!) team performed its debute... 26:0. I am not saying that the figure skating pair is that bad but people traditionally do not follow the winter sports as far as the Armenian performance is concerned. nairi
They're 16th after the original dance. They moved up 2 places since the compulsory dance. Tomorrow, the free dance. I'm crossing my fingers for them to move up to 15 th at least. http://www.isufs.org/results/wc2005/SEG012.HTM Btw, they were 11th in the Europeans. Armen, Armenians are quite prominent in figure skating. Michelle Kwan's coach is an Armenian, among others. Armenian music is regularly used for programs as well. Kwan will be skating to Khachaturian in her short program tomorrow afternoon. The Ukranian pair skated to Sabre Dance. There is no reason for no Armenian support in Moscow out of all places! Armen
Nairi, vas ist Michelle Kwan (excuse my German)? It may well be that there are some people but they don't have flags. Don't know ...
nairi
Kwan was the American World and Olympic champion for ladies! Your second point: yes, that's what I think too, but it'd be nice if they were more obvious with their support.
Armen
Kwan was the American World and Olympic champion for ladies! Well if she's only for the ladies I guess we don't have a chance http://www.atlantamakeupartist.com/michellekwan/pictures/michelle_kwan_on_ice.jpg Your second point: yes, that's what I think too, but it'd be nice if they were more obvious with their support. style_images/master/snapback.png Nairi, Armenian men in Russia attending a figure skating event is (for most of them) a heresy. Football, boxing, wrestling ... Armenian women prefer to watch it on TV rather than go out. Its freezing and our ladies don't usually like it These are sweeping generalisations but still ...
