TURKS AS ISLAMIC TERRORISTS IN AMERICAN SERIAL

12.01.2005 14:26

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Fox TV American channel is transmitting a serial

called "24", the principal heroes of which are ethnic Turks, who are

acting as Islamic terrorists, Yerkir online newspaper reports.

According to the plot of the film, a Turkish family residing in the

US is rendering help to religious fans from Istanbul for planning

terrorist acts in the US. Each part of the film lasts 2 hours and

enjoys wide popularity in the US. The Council on American-Islamic

Relations has sent a protest letter to the film studio with the

demand to take off the film and apologize to the Turkish people.

However the authors stated they are not going to apologize either to

Turks or to Muslims on the whole.

Great "news," just in time as the issue of the mafioso representation of some ethnicities was being discussed.

Apparently the said councils and associations aren't aware of the "portrayal" of Serbs and former British agents turned own-bosses in the serial. Apologise to whom? Moreover, it's an Amerikanski serial for the Amerikanski public who probably can't even point Serbia on a map, so if you don't like the people or the country, beat the hell out of there and let them devour each other or send their soldiers to the real desert monsters and the like in places like Iraq or Afghanistan rather than hoping to change them, that is, give them the non-xenophobic brains their dollars can't seem to afford. It is all "entertainment"...

Spectra - I just perused some threads over there and they are a riot.

You should reference Mehemt Ali Acga - the guy who shot the pope - certainy a well known Turkish terorist as well as poitn out the number of Turks killed in Chechnya.

Another point is that Turks are notorious deniers - just as they flat out deny that Turks could possibly be terroists they deny that Turks could have possibly commited Genocide - do we see a disturbing (and telling) pattern here.

Anyway - keep after them...I know they make themsleves look stupid & silly to all - but its also a good oppurtunity for us to elaborate on that a bit...
