I was recently chastised for translating վրեժ as "revenge." The person said, "Are you sure it's not more like the idea of 'vengeance' or 'retaliation'?" I checked my dictionaries and I thought about how my friend named Vrej says it means revenge. Do other people disagree though?

Hello, Can someone please remind me of the name of the podium/raised area at the front of Protestant Armenian churches where the pastor stands to speak? In Protestant American churches, most people I think would use the word "pulpit." Is it the same? In Protestant Armenian churches, is the pastor called Der Hayr or no? Thanks for any help, M

Hi Arpa, .... well, that's kind of what I want to study! Who does and who does not get excited about activism surrounding genocide recognition? Who are and who are not these kinds of activists? I was in an Armenian language class at UCLA where someone said, "Can we please stop talking about the genocide already? Aren't there other things to discuss about being Armenian?" I realize everybody has different opinions about this. I certainly don't endeavor to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't think. So, thank you for looking at the first page and letting me know why you don't want to take the survey. I appreciate your comment.
