It is a shame that Hrant Dink, a pacifist, was killed in such a brutal manner. But what else can you expect? There is not a shred of doubt in my mind the Turkish government was complicit in this heinous crime. And did you see how Turkish police were having their pictures taken with the assasin, holding up a Turkish flag?
Turkey is taking advantage of the support she receives from Israel and the USA, add to that Azerbaijan and Central Asia's Turkic states. America and Israel, however, is where Turkey gets most of her military support. Turkey exploits its unholy alliance with America and Israel, not to mention its NATO membership. Russians, although technically allies of Armenia, are careful not to tread on Turkish toes too much. You see, Russia depends on her warm ports on the Black Sea for trade and commerce, and unfortunately Turks have full control of the Bosphorus and Dardanelles, meaning no Russian vessel can have access to the Mediterranean and the outside world without going through Turkish territory. Turkey plays this card very well, trying to keep Russia at bay. It is also a known fact that even though the Cold War is over on paper, US-Russian rivalry still exists, and it is a known fact that America still has a listening station in Sinop, Turkey, trying to keep tabs on the Russkies.
