Anyone else feel like the Armenian girl was just a little too skinny for their taste? She had a GORGEOUS smile, and it's unfortunate but I think her weight might be correlated with the lack of money and proper eating in Armenia. That's just my two cents though, I could be wrong.

My mom was asking me to find out about this book online, but a few spellings of it on google brought up no relevant results. All she knows about it is that it is a book about the Armenian people and society. It is not a very old book she says it a few years old, so in book-years it's recent. If anyone knows what I am talking about get back at me, would greatly appreciate it! -Narek

The day I made my post I asked my mom if she would buy me one soon, and she told me a relative had recently returned a cross they borrowed becuase it is so beautiful. Just my luck its silver and thick just as I wanted. It''s beautiful! Here's a picture.

So I'm interested in buying, owning, and wearing a beautiful Armenian cross to show my faith and culture at the same time.. I'm interested in a silver, thick cross that has a traditional or not-so traditional Armenian design.. does anybody know where they sell beautiful ones you have seen (Los angeles area) or if any of you have some pictures that i can show people who can help me search.. would be a great help! How many of you are/have been in AYF? I'm considering joining the local chapter with a friend of mine just to learn more about the Armenian history and meet othe Armenians who are as passionate about their culture and supporting Karabagh and Armenia as I am..

First of all, your statement doesn't even make sense try looking at what i wrote then read what you responded with.. anyways i am not here to make enemies or argue, just to discuss. I haven't contradicted myself at all, and just as i believe all armenians should be united as one, i feel that ANCA should be careful not to offend any party of armenians because it would hinder its efforts. ANCA is a powerful organization with a lot of ambition, it should continue its casue because it has had a great impact on the Genocide issue. Nonetheless, associating itself with a political party raises questions, isn't that what happens with anything political related.. When Arnold was running for the governor position in California, people were raising the issues about his father being a member of Hitler's army or something, i don't remember the exact facts... though unrelated you can see why affiliations and ties can hurt people or organizations. Umm yea... feel free to criticize me i enjoy hearing from all of you.. I'm new to this forum (registered yesterday) go easy bolores hye enk!

I don't mean to offend you if you're Dashnak, but I think it's important for organizations that have a purpose that relates to the entire Armenian community as a whole, it should not favor any single party. ANCA serves all Armenians and should focus on working with Dashnaks, Hnchaks, et al. to move the US government to recognize the Armenian genocide. If people are donating money to ANCA they should be sure that these dollars aren't going to fund politicians they do not support.

hey, could somebody help guide me to where i can learn western armenian? i'm armenian and grew up speaking eastern armenian, and am continuing to learn my armenian and expand my vocabulary, but i would also like to learn the western armenian spoken by anatolia armenians. i feel that knowing both would help me build a better connection with the entire armenian diaspora as a whole. i dont care if its a web site, book, classes in los angeles area, can somebody please let me know where i can start this... even if there are just a few people i could exchange email/screen names with to practice my skills, that would help as well... thanks! -narek

Yea, ANCA was raising money for their organization to help their cause. The thing I find strange, however, is how they are "affiliated" so well with the AYF/ARF Tashnagtsutsyoon.. hmm?

Hey, everybody, my name is Narek and I just joined this forum recently. Have been reading the posts for about a month now and finally decided to register and participate. I live in Glendale, like most Armenians, but never understood why it became such a huge haven for Armenian immigrants... I know theres Armenians centered in large cities around the world, but wow, here we are EVERYWHERE. An Armenian could go through his day here perfectly sound without speaking a word of English. So anyways, there are a lot of very intelligent people here, hope somebody could respond to this one for me. Thanks!
