  1. How many Armenian males were conscripted into the labor battalions ? What was the range of ages of these men ? (16-60yo comes to mind but I am not sure) What were the dates of the various call-ups ? Are there any estimates of how many men deserted ? How many were discharged at the end of the war ? Does anyone know of any book that covers what we know about the fate of these men in detail ? Also interested in the statements of deserters.
  2. If I was an audience member at the conference, I would ask questions like..... 1. The Armenian Genocide was committed over the years 1915-1923. The Jewish Genocide perhaps over the period of 4 years. The Rwandan Genocide was about 100 days. What was the duration of the so-called Khojali Genocide ? 2. Using the number of casualties and the duration of so-called Khojali Genocide as a guide, how many similar Genocides occurred in the 20th century ?
  3. From the Amazon.com review section of Taner Akcam's book "A Shameful Act", http://www.amazon.com/gp/discussionboard/d...#wasThisHelpful
  4. What preparations and maneuvers were made by the Turks against Russian Armenia in anticipation of the fall of Stalingrad, 1942 ? Were the British and Americans aware of the Turkish intentions at the time ? Any good books in English that cover this topic ?
  5. At the conclusion of Andrew Goldberg’s “the Armenian Genocide”, PBS televised a discussion between Akcam, Balakian, that clown McCarthy and some Turkish official. The Turkish guy mentioned "Admiral Bristol". Turks seem to mention this character a lot. I recall this Admiral Bristol had many harsh words for Greeks and Armenians. For me, this guy represents the change in US government interests and the abandonment of Greeks and Armenians in favour of the Turks. So who is this Admiral Bristol ? His Wiki page is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Lambert_Bristol
