  1. I believe every genocides are unique. This has nothing to do with not sharing genocide, I just think that calling an event Great Slaughter is far from revising a previous decision.
  2. Near East and Middle East committees has published paintings titled 'starving Armenians' They are probably those having popularised those expressions.
  3. No, they did not, the term 'Great slaughter' for reffering to the Armenian massacres has been somehow coined by the Vatican long time ago and before the genocide term was even coined, and it is the closest to the Armenian term in that respect. This Pope is much more extremist in his beliefs than Jean Paul II, and has vocally opposed to Turkeys joining the EU, there is no question that this Pope will ever revert such a decision. And besides, great slaughter is a term that could be much more restrictive than the term genocide, in history there has been many genocides, but there always was less geat slaughter than genocides. BTW, I have lost my password again.
  4. I am not speechless, I would expect everything from Perincek. He's simply a psychiatric cases.
  5. From the screenshots, it sounds like MacOS X. I am now using Mandriva 2006 for a few days, and still the driver supports are not that good which is unfortunate, I thought that now it should have the supports for the needs. I was able to install the ATI driver for my All in wonders 9600 xt and from it to be able to run that screen at the refreshrate I wanted. It loaded the driver correctly, but ATI proprity driver does not support the all in wonders options and I had to install a GNU for this, and another GNU to be able to use the remote. As long as it is free it is nice, I really love the way with Mandriva I can configure every bit of appearance of my system, I gave a MacOS X look. What really pissed me off, is the printer, first I wasn't able to find a driver for it, I have found a driver for another printer which worked, but it would print only in draft and I don't have all the options and configurations I had on Windows XP, and then finally after searching over the web, I have found a nice software, TurboPrint, which support my printer and many others, it provides the options and configurations like I had on WindowsXP, but the damn thing is 30 $. I moved on Linux because of all the GNU stuff I found that are just found with Linux, but it really pisses me off to pay 30 $ for something that a simple driver SHOULD DO. Most of the problem is with the compagnies that still refuse to support Linux, it is really hard to replace Windows there, I was ready to pay for example a Linux version of Antidote, they do not produce a Linux version, Correcteur 101 since 2003 doesn't exist on Linux, there are no French advanced grammer correcters and hardware compagnies won't provide the drivers necessary and I have to search to get them. That's really not nice since I really wanted to leave Windows as it is with Macromedia Flash the only products I still use without paying, since there are no free alternatives for both. My second migration which was with Mandrake 10 failed for the hardware support and the way I could not get run my hardwares the way they should have, started with my monitor with the wrong refreshing rates. While it improved it is still left behind. I am just wondering, when I was using a Mac, I was finding that many things which existed in the Windows world were missing, now I feel worst than that. Also, I still can't understand why I can't even have the support the Mac world has, I know that very few peoples use Linux, but from the statistics I have read, there is now more Linux users than Mac users, so this lack of support is not justitified. Also, now that I am with Linux, I am more than ever ready to pay for the softwares than when I was on PC and that all the Windows versions were available illegally over the net, so I really believe that more person per OS user will pay for the softwares than in the Windows side. It's really not nice.
  6. I forgot to thank you. I feel dumb having forgotten to set the files permission to execute it.
  7. I don't think McCarthy should be silenced, but on the other hand, from the list there is no one prepared to answer back. They should not cancel, they should only add to the list, Hilmar Kaiser. Hilmar Kaiser confrontational style will shut McCarthy up... find the founds necessary to bring Kaiser on the panel.
  8. When I`ve read the first line of your post, I really thought that for once you had something interesting to say, but apparently you had not. The elephant is the republic of Artsakh, it should NOT be Armenia discussing with Azerbaijan about the future of Artsakh but Artsakh itself. Both Azerbaijan and Artsakh held a referundum on the issue of independence in December 1991, the previous declaration of independence from Azerbaijan was not according to the law, as those repeated declarations from Karabakh of secession or union with Armenia. Azerbaijan also adopted its constitution under the Soviet Act governing procedures for the secession of a republic from the Union adopted on April 3, 1990, and it was according to this procedure that both Artsakh and Azerbaijan held their referundum to declare their official independence. This cases is a llegal one between Azerbaijan and Artsakh, which both used the same procedures to brake from the Federation, Armenia should only get involved in the negiations for the territories outside of the republic of Artsakh. Artsakh has legal grounds for its independences, not only for what happened in 1991, but also many other strong arguments. Azerbaijan already recognized Artsakh as part of Armenia in December 1, 1920, and all the successive attemps also after Lenins death. Azerbaijan is not a fool, they know specifically that Artsakh has very strong arguments, and for those reasons they have from the beginning attempted to forbid Artsakh to take part in the negotiations and Armenia has always weakly fell in this trap. It should be, no Artsakh in the negotiations, NO negotiations. As simple as that. It has used the same ;egal means but was not recognized, this is a legal mistake from the international community which should be corrected.
  9. Here is where I disagree with you? Feel sorry? If they do stop this hypocrasy, I won't feel sorry. Why should I? It's a damn cartoon? We have this sort of cartoons jocking about every things everytime? Quebecers do it with Jesus very often, I don't remember manifestations of Christians. Its damn art, why anyone should feel sorry because an art piece offend someone?
  10. I don't remember I had this problem with Mandrake 10. When I log on su, I can not execute a .run, it denies my permissions, I have not checked if root had all the permissions yet, but is it normal that they will configure a Linux distro by not attributing all the permissions to root? BTW, yes the file is in /root..., so it is not due to a locked folder. Suppose that root has all the permissions it should, what other reasons could there be to deny me to run it? I have also tried on a native terminal (not a one via the x-windows), and it does the same exact thing.
  11. Those that get so much insulted with such cartoons are insulting themselves. If the cartoons don't represent their saint figure, why would they be offended? They are accepeting the representation on those cartoons to be the presentent of their religion, they are insulting themselves. BTW, it's the good oll Domino there, I formated my swap partition on my little partition where I store my passwords.
