    "butchery"

Butchery copyright @ 2005 Brenda Terzian With crow bars, pickaxes, and intentions to hack Against the innocents they did start attack Tanners and butchers they did go too far Breaking down doors yelling ‘Allahu Akbar’ Against the Christians they made their stand Meat cleavers and clubs in their hands Not a thing could slow them or sway Until their prayer calls came at midday They prayed on their knees pausing the killing Jumped on their feet to continue blood spilling Bringing to many a dreadful fright With barbaric deeds ‘til late at night Unless unable to get in the house Then to it a fire they did arouse Brought about this violent condition Because of intolerance of another’s religion The fanatics had a one-tract mind The only solution they could find By the time it was over many paid the price They had become human sacrifice (excerpt from, “Warrior Poet Verses : Aram the Great” , page 35 , by Brenda Terzian )

Anahid, I'm happy that you are pleased with my poems. Hope you have a chance to go to my site, http://rhymster.com/members/Brenda_Terzian and read others, especially "Land of Buzzards" which says the whole story. I am posting on this same web site another poem, which many have contacted me about saying they are touched by it, which comes from my book, " Warrior Poet Verses: Aram the Great " a book with a lot of my Armenian poems. The poem is called "Butchery". Perhaps you'll read and care for that one too. Before I close, let me say your name, Anahid, is one of my favorites. I named two of my books after the Armenian goddess, Anahit (same name different spelling as you know), "Anahit, Warrioress: Princess of Hayasdan" and "Anahit's Sojourns at Ararat", which are both fictional, with embedded truths of Armenian culture. Best regards, and let us all remember the martyrs always. Brenda

    Remember !

Remember !!! copyright @ 2006 Brenda Terzian We must not forget Or let others either Genocide martyrs Or survivors neither For if is forgotten Then all suffered in vane Justice not prevail Only evil reigns But if remembered By everyone each and all The pains that were felt The many who did fall Ones we did love So needlessly lost They paid the price The ultimate cost The world we reap Is that which we sow It can happen again All must be made to know Perhaps then those who live And those yet to come From the earth’s nations Hopefully all kingdoms Just may unite Together hand-in-hand Against this cruel cycle Take a righteous stand Which is crucial to peoples Who are living today And for all those Who died yesterday So the end that they met Evil they did meet Will never again Be allowed to repeat This tragedy effects All humankind members That is why Genocide We must all Remember ! ---by Brenda Terzian , actress, screenplay writer, international book author, artist "Let us all be blessed for remembering the past, that we be not doomed to relive sad events!" http://rhymster.com/members/Brenda_Terzian http://www.writesight.com/writers/bterzian

    Wanderers

Wanderers copyright @ 2006 Brenda Terzian The desert became a home For those made homeless Forced to wander, wander, and wander Like a circle has no beginning The desert has no end But there many found ending Those forced to wander and wander Agony, desperation and fear That was all was allowed But all had to keep walking To wander, wander, and wander All kept trying their best For many it wasn’t enough But the rest had to keep on To wander and wander How I thirst for a glass of water How I hunger for a piece of bread How I long for peaceful rest How long must I wander, wander, and wander How long am I to be in misery Has the caring world eluded me The forced march takes a long and winding path Where will destiny carry us Dead bodies fall before my feet Their suffering has ended They will no longer Wander and wander But the merciless keeps ours going on. Why are we to be punished so Are we to perish without a trace Into the trenches of wasteland We who were so loyal And always so devoted We must remain brave For we have to keep the Faith For God, for the world, For Christianity sake Many with God’s help Found the strength to carry on Through death or through life In the hope of a new day We continue the journey To wander, wander and wander. But the memory of tragedy lingers Pictures of innocents remain Ones who were martyred ‘Cause they had Christ faith Few of us survived The tortures of adversaries Living remnants of the past Destined to tell the truth That present day generations Can know ever present dangers Let never the martyrs Have died in vane Let not others be made to die ‘Cause they have faith Or be forced To wander, wander, and wander ---by Brenda Terzian , actress, screenplay writer, international book author, artist "Let us all be blessed for remembering the past, that we be not doomed to relive sad events!" http://rhymster.com/members/Brenda_Terzian http://www.writesight.com/writers/bterzian

Warrior Poet Verses: Aram the Great by Brenda Terzian (author, screenplay writer) p. 11 of the book, copyright @2005 Brenda Terzian Once upon a time I was and wasn't young Because of my birth time And my birth kingdom I'm from a people With pride of its race With a destiny To conquer obstacles faced I come from a nation That strived closed to the Lord And with courage Determined to push forward My roots are from One of the first civilizations Who with hope and patience Found realization Though I am alive Before me many have died Reaching for equality In justice to abide I am not bound By the limits of a nation For God gave to all The world as foundation My voice to some is still To others a thunder It can't be silenced In the presence of plunder A leader to the world I am part of I will fill it With humanity love Though one day I'll die 'Cause I'm of the family of man Still my spirit will soar And help others to stand www.lulu.com/brendaterzian
