Thanks for the replies. Here are the answers for your queries: 1. When I first start playing, the reed is closed completely. After I make it wet, I start to get some sounds out of it - for 5-6 minutes. After that it becomes impossible for me to get any sound out of it. I haven't tried with alternative reeds. 2. I bought the duduk from eBay. I know you won't approve it but as I said I am a newbie, I just wanted to try it. I contacted the guy I bought the duduk from, and he told me the master is Samvel Markosian. I will try to post the pictures as soon as possible. I am guessing that I am doing something wrong somewhere. Any pointer would be appreciated. Thanks, OS

Hi, I am a newbie in duduk playing, and I desperately need some pointers. I'm having trouble with my duduk reeds. I'm very new to duduk playing, and whenever I play for more than a couple of minutes the reed opening becomes too wide and it becomes very difficult to get a decent sound from it. I keep the reed firmly closed when it's stored so it is fine when I first start playing. I've tried securing the bridle more firmly, but while this works in the short term, Any info, recommendation or pointers would be appreciated. Thanks, OS
