There used to be many Armenian libraries in Istanbul. These libraries had a lot of old books from 19th century. Unfortunately, these libraries had been destroyed and emptied due to the sale of the property. Then, these old books were given or sold-for-nothing to ESKIDJIS (people going around the streets with their wooden carts buying second-hand stuff from houses etc). These eskidjis then sold these old books in second-hand book markets. This is the story of many invaluable Armenian books sold in the 90s in Istanbul. The same thing did not happen to books in Hebrew for some reason!
