  1. And thanks for your communication!!!!
  2. Yes, a strange question but if you look at all historical cultures, alcoholic drinks have always been a central part of the culture. From church to medical use, I am interested to know of Armenian recipies and how far back they go.
  3. Does Armenia have it's own special "MOONSHINE"?? Most cultures have their special alcoholic drink such as plumb brandy or corn whisky. What have the Armenians been making through history to stay warm??
  4. Mid March Edit Note: fixed a quote
  5. I also think that Maral is a beautiful name, how does it translate into English????
  6. Oh my God!!!! Thank you so much. It is you again!!!! I appreciate your help!
  7. I am interseted in getting more info or contact info on this artist. She displayed at St. John's Armenian Church in Southfield, Michigan many years back. I have done some sculptures from her paintings and am very interested in meeting her! If anyone knows her or has contact info, please contact me. Thank you. Brant
  8. I know this is a lot to ask but your suggestions would be very much appreciated!!! We are looking for a beautiful Armenian girls name for our daughter, if you are interested in a pick please include the meaning of the name in English too. I thank you all that help! God Bless.
  9. I have an Ebay business and spend a lot of time tracking down frauds. Your idea of messing with this tool is a good one but hey, just look at that feedback!! You know what they say about going around and coming around, that account won't be standing for long.
  10. Thank you very much, that makes a lot of sense even if it is not related to the song. I understand what you are saying and never thought of that. I am glad you pointed it out!!
  11. I think it is funny that we are at a point in history where the truth is up for debate and people are seriosly trying to write the truth out of history. Would the world let the truth be written out of Jewish history???
  12. And I never had any idea that he was any part Armenian!!! But its good news. Can you explain about Armenia, City in the Sky and how you think it relates to the older generations view of Armenia??? Thanks for your help and info, I appreciate the time and opinions.
  13. I don't follow???? Get how far where??? I was trying to find a connection between an old Armenian story and a necklace worn by a member of The Who. Someone else thought that Peter Townshend was of Armenian decent. All I have to go on is The spider story, The same necklace as described in the story as worn by John Entwistle and the song Armenia, City in the Sky. Maybe there is no connection but thats what I am looking to find out. Even if there is no connection, I would still like to find info on Armenian spider stories. Someone else out there must have heard some before unless the guy that told it to me was some creepy weirdo that just made it up??????
  14. I am only 1/2 Armenian on my mothers side, I spent more time listening than speaking so I can understand some but can speak very little. I am 36 year old and am just getting comfortable with my heritage. I have learned a lot about the Armenian history through the years from my family but put a lot on the back burner for many years. I do want to keep the heritage in my family and would like to learn to speak.
  15. You have an excellent intellegent, perspective!!!!
  16. Yeah , you got my point!!! It seems that the fanatics are the ones trying to prove that this part of history never happened. The biggest kick in the nuts is that they still refer to Armenians as "MAD DOGS". There are not a lot of Armenians refering to Turks as "MOVING TARGETS".
  17. Just interested to hear what other Armenians think of all the manic internet sites claiming that early 20th century genocides never happened???? I can see that the Turks spend a lot of time forcing the argument that all the photos are fake, the personal accounts of survivors are lies and that the Armenians basically made up about 5 years of history. My grandmother used to say how the Turks would shit themselves in an earthquake because they thought it was the bones of the murdered Armenians shaking in the ground!! I know there is a lot of hate in the world but that the Armenian nation would try to fake history to be recognized, come on...........nobody is dumb enough to believe that, are they?????
  18. Good one!!! Those are great stories.
  19. Good info!! Don't you think it is strange though with the story, The Who, the Armenian connection and the spider necklace that THE OX (John Entwistle) used to wear??? Have you seen his necklace?? Nice talking to you, I will check out the Daltry movie too!!
  20. When I was very, very young my Armenian grandmother told me a great story. She was born and raised in Armenia till the age of 16 when she was forced to Canada. The story was of a man that was too lazy to work so he went out to find a shade tree where he was to rest. He found a tree and ate his lunch washing it down with fresh milk. He rested againsted the tree and nodded off to sleep. As he began to snore with his mouth open a snake nearby could smell the fresh milk that the lazy sleeping man had just drunk. The snake crawled into the mans mouth and dissappeared into his stomach but not before the man caught a glimpse of the snakes tail passing below his nose! He ran home in a panic and the only thing he could think to do was put a pan of warm milk under his ass hoping that the snake would smell the milk and come out! I always knew this was a made up story but as many times as I heard it, it still makes me laugh!
  21. Thats what I was hoping to hear!! Thanks.
  22. maybe, but that darn bass player from The Who. Pretty funny if the whole thing stemmed from him and his spider necklace. Thanks!
  23. Glad to get such a quick response! I hope I find out something about it. I know there have been a lot of secret ways to maintain tradition through secret signs and codes so perhaps it is along those lines???
