I'm an Armenian-American and I truly care what happens in Armenia. I have fallowed the current political crisis in Armenia. This crisis has build up when Mr. Kocharian rigged the national elections. I know this from media reports, witnesses and the election observers (the OSCE, Council of Europe) them selves said that the elections were rigged. That alone is enough for a president to be removed from office because he didnt get elected. ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT! But it doesnt stop there. Alot of bad things have happened under the Kocharian Adminsitration. * Many Politically Motivated Killings * Human Rights Abuses (The Worse Ever in the Armenian History) * Banning Freedom of the Press (T.V. channels that spoke against Kocharian are banned.) * Selling crucial Armenian resources to others such as the power plants, phone lines, different companies. (What makes me more mad is that it's being sold to Russia.) * The Karabahk Conflict is still not solved. * Kocharian is not for Constituional Reform. For example he doesnt want to change the current law that gives the president the power to appoint/remove the Mayor of Yerevan, the Police Chief, the governors of differents provinces. 9I wonder why?) *This man has violated the Constitution of Armenia many times for example, banning opposition rallies which under the Armenian Consitution Under Chapter 2 Section 26 it is permitted. Also this man has violated Chapter 2 Section 22 whcih says everyone has the right to move around the republic. Kocharian has also violated that. All this is enough for a president to be removed in a democratic civil society. It may be different under the Kocharian Regime. As the German Ambassidor to Armenia said the polics beatings of the peacful protestors would have never accured in Germany. If Kocharian really got elected by the majority of the people, why is he not accepting a Nationa Referendum on him? He says it's uncostitutional. But it's not unconstitutional to beat the hell out of the people. Thats why I say he needs to be removed. Not just because I don't like him. It's very simple I'm for the intrest of my fatherland. Thank You.
