I've heard a horrible account of a wedding gone-awry in or near the Glendale/Burbank area, and I'm not sure if there is any validity to it. Of course, a search of the regular news sources hasn't turned up anything, as is usually the case with all good gossip within our community.
Apparently, an Armenian groom wanted his bride to enter her wedding reception at a banquet hall riding atop a horse. The management of the hall, fearing the potential risks of such an endeavor, initially denied him the permission to do this. He was forced to draw up and sign release forms stipulating that he would incur full responsibility in the case of an accident. Lo and behold, the horse became frightened by the loud percussion that usually drives most Armenian celebratory functions, and it proceeded to trample the wedding guests. Thirty-five to forty people were injured, and the bride was thrown from the horse. She supposedely lapsed into a coma for ten days, and died sometime in the past week(s).
Its an incredible story, and since I heard it from a credible source, I didn't want to dismiss it as bull-plop just yet.
