Very cool news but as usual Arpa has some good points. In any case I'm sure it'll be the best scenic flight. Vayotz Dzor, Syunik and into Artsakh, definitely very beautiful parts of Armenia. Some people come to Armenia and don't really have time to travel to typical far off tourist spots such as Noravanq and Jermuk but still want to see Artsakh. This will definitely be perfect for them. Also for people whom have seen those places but not Artsakh. That damn airport in Jermuk should be fixed up as well. I know of a lot of people that come to Armenia just to spend most of their time in Jermuk. Gyumri airport really only serves Russian flights, though after the recent construction and new runway, I think any other flights coming in from abroad that can't land in Yerevan due to bad weather can just fly into Gyumri.

Yup saw it at Golden Apricota/Vosqe Tziran. Great movie. The boring opening ceremony of the festival took place outside the Opera followed by a screening of the film. They showed films there pretty much every night throughout the festival. Very stupid place to have it, considering it's next to all the loud cafes.

The film is awesome, great acting and music. Probably the best film about the Armenian Genocide.

Not sure if anyone in this thread has mentioned this, but the station is NOT CALLED C1 but H1. That little logo you guys see on the screen is not the letter C but H in Armenian. So many people in the diaspora make this same mistake.

Ruben I think you can get it from any embassy closest to you. Iraqi Armenians have been applying at the embassy in Syria. Doubt Jordan has an embassy. I am guessing you can't travel to Syria to get one. Maybe Egypt? If you're not in a rush, hang in there and see what comes up with this dual citizenship stuff. The current 10-year passports are not that cheap (up to $500).

Ruben you could have always applied for an Armenian passport (a special residency passport that is). I'm assuming you mean becoming a dual citizenship. Although the details aren't out yet it's sort of obvious from whatever's been mentioned so far that ANYONE with Armenian roots can apply.

yes Eurocentric, i knew about the points you made. my point is that in the last century there have been some distortions by our enemies. constantly using the name Urartu instead of Ararat makes it seem like Urartu had no real connection to the Armenians. that probably didnt make sense but its 5am right now. we need to stop using the name Urartu just as we need to stop using Karabagh instead of Artsakh. i found an old thread where Artaxias mentioned this: "So far this is what I gather. IE Hittites took over non-IE Hattis. Later IE proto-Armenians took over what's left of the Hittites and eventually coexisted in the East with the Hurro-Urartians for a while, gaining total domination when Cimmerians/Scythians invaded destroying Urartu/Phrygia and going further into Europa. That's when Media takes over, obviously preferring IE Armenian over the weird non-IE Urartian. So until that point everyone involved from Hittites to Thraco-Phrygians and Cimmerians and the non-IE Hurrians, Hayasas etc. are all proto-Armenians." sort of makes sense yet proto-Armenian definition is quite confusing especially in wikipedia's definition - the part that says "Armenian has many layers of loanwords and shows traces of long language contact with Hurro-Urartian". again, where do the Hayasa-Azi and Armens come into the picture and what the heck is the Urartu language? i think i give up. like i said, the area is so huge that it's practically impossible to come up with one explanation.

the sad reality is that we Armenians keep using the name Urartu rather than Ararat. there are so much info on the net that completely contradicts eachother. i mean naturally it's going to be confusing since we're talking about a huge area of land where not only Armenians have lived. it just seems stupid that i keep running into this thing about Urartu and its so called Urartians disappeared and suddenly we appeared. how does that work when our roots were with the Hayasa-Azzi and Armens which were before the so called Urartians? or should i be looking more west towards Phrygia and not only the central and eastern Armenian Highland. UKH! too much info.

where exactly did I say we are Urartu? the Jews will always be our worst enemies twisting every historical truth to minimize our race's worthy role in history. NO WE DID NOT APPEAR OUT OF NO WHERE and take over the traditions of the so called Urartu people. the Araratian Kingdom was the kingdom of the our race, the Armenian race.
