Storslok

I am married to a woman whose family was from Artvin. They were Catholics. According to their traditions and to the Catholic Encyclopedia, Artvin was a very Armenian town. I understand that the genocide must have reached Artvin, but I am unable to find any information about what took place and if some or most artvin-armenians managed to escape. I would be grateful for information. Thanks in advance.
