The UN proved to be useless by allowing almost 1 million people to die. Isn't that obvious? You ask what should have been done? Well, the answer certainly isn't to do nothing... which is exactly what the UN did. There are many ways to prevent genocide. Here's an idea... How about sending a coalition of troops? What is the duty of the UN anyhow? It is to preserve peace. Well, they did a great job at that. This is a no brainer. I would love to hear your defense of the UN. Why are you even guestioning this? Am I missing something here?

It is amazing that the Rwandan Genocide was 10 years ago. It is unexceptable that this took place in modern times. 800,000 people dead. Then again, we shouldn't be too surprised I guess. The fact that this genocide took place is proof that the UN is useless.
