If faith or the existence in God, Allah etc or "other" spiritual belief systems is something one cannot prove nor disprove for example, then one can philosophically debate either position objectively for an "eternity" so to speak. I will leave it at that. Raffi, I agree that debates about such topics can be fruitless. On the other hand, if someone says, for example, God does not exist, then I would like to say it is not true. Religion is not something like a book to read mechanically and make an opinion. The value of religion is in practicing it, then one can know truth. Stating what you think of a religion without understanding much has no value. There IS proof that God exists. However, the proof will not be delivered to anyone by itself. As it was said, seek and you shall find (your proof). P.S. Raffi jan, this is not necesarily to answer you It is mostly about Ara Baliozian's last comment. I agree and understand and no harm done I just wanted to make my point and agree to your comments earlier I never challenge someone's faith in God. Neither will I take part in debating whether God exists or not.
  2. quote:Originally posted by vava:Bleah! it's sickening... I think they have like 2-3 points in their last ten games! What a time for a slump. I really feel bad for Dougie Gilmour - he's a truly great player and he's about to retire. He deserves a good playoff run, at the very least.... makes me mad. smilies/mad.gif Yeah it really is too bad for Montreal (snicker)LOL I will always love Dougie "G".......see, if he had have signed with the leafs again he could very well have enjoyed a good playoff run! On a serious note though, I agree -- I'd rather see Montreal in the post season then Ottawa or Vancouver!
  3. LOL VAVA!I just read this! This Hour Has 22 Minutes is one of my favourite shows! It's too bad that Rick Mercer is no longer on it Did you see his special on "Talking To Americans"? LOL

  5. Good point! This is true, not all skinheads per se are neo-nazi's. "Punks" often tend to be much further to the "left" of the political spectrum. I for one have been involved in the "punk" movement for years but now more or less prefer to refer to myself as an "individual" now since the "punk" subculture more or less has arguably become less political and more about "fashion" then really anything else. I've also been shaving my head for many years and have been often been confused with being a "skinhead" by many people.
  6. I've noticed this myself as I visit the site daily due to their now daily coverage of what is going on with regard to the elections. For some reason they have been "updating" the site for the last few days I've been wondering what's been going on myself.
  7. They seem to have abandoned their usual HABitude for playing hockey in the post-season! LOL
  8. YAY! The Leafs picked up Owen Nolan!!!
  9. I'm just posting this message to offer my belated congradulations, so here it is, CONGRADULATIONS! Also, I took kickboxing & kung fu @ Twin Dragon here in Canada and I was just wondering (if you still visit this thread) if you were familiar with Paul Biafore?
  10. LOL Well actually I don't even really know what this "list" is all about but I guess we can leave it at that. Actually if I may shock people here, I don't even have a car! I do realize how important the need for a car is however (as well as the "status" this may symbolize) so I'm considering this. All I have right now is a pretty nice mountain bike and two feet with legs.
  11. BTW, I'm not ashamed to say I don't have a "big" list! LOL
  12. Just a bit off-topic here but Sip I took a look at your webpage it's pretty kewl but I just noticed your former last name is nearly identical to my current last name!
  13. quote:Originally posted by Domino:Raffi, I am suspicious about his death, we have no idea of why he died, we have no idea of what he was suffering of, a big mouth like he was/is, he would have used his condition to show how it does not stop him to "expose"the Armenians. We just discover from Turkish newspapers he died, just at the time that a second edition of his book was supposed to be published, or that the second book of the said series was supposedly compleated. I just see that Weems has done his time, and it was time that he would serve better death then alive, like the "hero" that "battled" until his death. Where has he died, the next time I heard he was on vacation in Turkey with his wife, then we learn he died ? Until I have no news of why he died, and where his body was exposed, I will not believe his death. You make a very good point and an interesting one here. I also thought his death sounded somewhat suspicious and coincidental. You are correct, we have nothing to really go by other then what Turkish organizations have told us. Apparently, he has died from a heart attack and rumour has it, his ashes will be dumped somewhere in Turkey. (This is an interesting theory considering he was alleged to have been a Baptist minister so I'm not sure how he'd be cremated considering this "fact".)Nevertheless, whether he is dead or alive -- he's finally shut up! LOL
  14. Wow! Very nice work Rouben! Good "stuff"! The painting of that child looks so lifelike!
  15. quote:Originally posted by THOTH: Anyway welcome to our forum and I wish you luck on LA. Its at the same time botha difficult and and easy city to live in and get to know people and such. Too bad you don't live in Canada - eh? (for Raffi-I's sake...)[/QB] Yeah she seems really cool and sweet Good sense of humour, but she likes to laugh at my misfortunes! LOL
  16. Ok thanks Yes it does help quite a bit......Sorry if I'm clogging up the forum here!
  17. quote:Originally posted by Raffi the Illuminator:OOPS! :S (sorry! still learning lol) Ok here's my message so no one get's confused as to who said what and also I don't get sued by anyone here for plagiarizing or not following proper citation procedures : Even though some Armenians were "uprooted" so to speak in the western part of Turkey (ie. Istanbul/Constantinople), the majority of the massacres and deportations, according to what I understand took place on our ancestral lands in the east which at the time was occupied by the Ottomans. Some scholars argue the reason for this was because the eastern part of Turkey was too close to Europe and would probably attract too much "attention" so to speak. And as for those of you that would like to visit Turkey, by all means do so. Personally, I choose not to because I think I would get into "problems" LOL -------------------- “Once you decide to "titillate" instead of illuminate, you're on a slippery slope” (Bill Moyers). ARGH! SORRY! I MEANT THE WESTERN PART OF TURKEY!

  19. And to just add and clarify a bit more to my own comments, I haven't heard much about neo-nazi's around here lately in the media or from anti-racist organizations but I suppose that doesn't mean they don't exist. The important thing to note here is that even though the "skinhead movement" may be dying out here but I'm quite sure the idealogy sadly still exists.
  20. quote:Originally posted by Harut: quote:Originally posted by nairi:Beyond semantics, I'm shocked at the unprecedented growth of skinheads in my otherwise very leftist city. Just a year ago a skinhead shop (in disguise) was opened on our main shopping street, and I bump into skinheads almost on a daily basis. There are even skinheads at my university, but professors hardly seem to care about this. What is going on?? here is the mastermind behind those skinhead movements.Hey! No fair! LOL I been shaving my head for years too but I'm no "father of skinheads!" But on a more serious note, I think it's alarming that there's a sudden rise in the right-wing neo-nazi subculture in your country. We (Canada) had something similar to that a few years back. Either they are now disappearing (hopefully) or they've "integrated" themselves into society by not adopting the general "look" that most of them have. Or,they quite possibly could have gone underground. Most of them here also appear to be teens. I haven't seen many skinheads older then 20 years old here (Toronto area)in several years. However, I'm quite sure many of them are "recruited" or conditioned by people much older then they are, so I suppose the "older" ones are now less obvious in appearance.
