  1. I have a question about the reflexive pronouns, particularly those in the Accusative, Ablative, and Instrumental declensions which have two possible forms. For example: Accusative: դուն քեզ or ինքզինքդ Ablative: դուն գեզմէ or ինքնիրմեդ Instrumental: դուն քեզմով or ինքնիրմովդ I understand the declensions, but I was wondering about the usage of the words. Are the two forms mutually interchangeable or is one considered more formal than the other?

Thanks for all the help. My first language is English and as my mother is Mexican, I speak some Spanish as well. My father is Armenian but his family came to the States back in 1912 so he never learned to speak the language. I've decided to finally teach myself. I can read the characters now pretty easily and I have a knack for language so I am progressing pretty quickly. I only started a couple months ago. I think the forum will help immensely.
  3. I grew up using the word "guajolote" for turkey, which is a Mexican Spanish term taken from the Nahuatl "huexolotl," meaning apparently "large monster." Although I'm not familiar with the Nahuatl language and my source is hardly peer-reviewed.

I am attempting to learn some Western Armenian and I had a quick question regarding pronunciation rules for the letters ու. I know they usually form the diphthong oo, but when ւ has a vowel on either side of it, isn't it pronounced as a v? For example: is աղուոր pronounced "aghovor" or "aghoo-or?" Any help would be much appreciated.
  5. Thanks so much for your help! I took that particular trnaslation from a book and it's no wonder I couldn't find the armenian characters for it. Your transliteration seems to make alot more sense.
  6. I am working on an art piece and came across the phrase, djamangeen, gar oo chagar, and would like to know how to write it out in Armenian. I have very little experience with the language aside from a smattering of phrases and am eager to learn more but resources in my area are limited and so it's slow going. Any help would be much appreciated thanks!
