  1. Is there anything we can add to a dress like this to make it look more Armenian? http://www.amazonprom.com/sheathcolumn-vneck-chiffon-floorlength-beading-dress-p-303202755.html
  2. Which would be most like going to the Armenian Church, the Greek Orthodox or the Coptic Orthodox? I know the Greek is not in communion with the Armenian, but I have heard more about the Greeks being similar to the Armenians than I have heard of the Coptic/Egyptians being similar.
  3. I might be like that if I knew more Armenian. How can you not be Armenian with a name like Shaunt? I don't look Armenian. I did not grow up around an Armenian community. I don't have an Armenian name. I only know a few words of the language and a couple letters of the alphabet. I am part other stuff. I love the side of me that is Armenian. I am proud of it because I am proud of the Armenian people and my Armenian family. I like to tell people I am Armenian. When I got my Armenian club sweatshirt back in university, I wore it every day for probably 4 days despite relatively warm (but thankfully not too hot) weather. I expect I will die proud to be Armenian. I mourn only that some fellow Armenians do not share the same faith that helped our great people through the century (thank you Soviet Union), but we are a people who have faced much and survived, a people are art, faith, and love, a people whose existence in this day is worth celebrating and yet we press on to something more, something greater, life and justice. When I do not show that I am Armenian, it is my secret weapon, that piece that says you have underestimated me because I am much more than I appear. Plus I'm a white suburban woman whose only ethnic group in the area is Armenian, so that is pretty cool too. One day, Armenia may be a great nation, flourishing at least as well if not better than my own home nation. God be with her.
  4. I am part Armenian, do not speak the language (mom did not have the chance to learn it and I grew up farther away from an Armenian community), and do not attend many off-campus Armenian club events or hang out a lot with them outside of the club meetings, and do not look Armenian. I am proud and will die proud of my Armenian family and the great heritage of the Armenian people, eat Armenian food when I get the chance, am joining the Oriental Orthodox church now that I have been able to visit an Armenian church, will try to find a book or something to learn the language in the next year or so, attended my alma mater's Armenian club meetings whenever I had the chance, and am somewhat involved in an Armenian political organization when I get the chance. Do I count as Armenian or as odar?
  5. This is probably a lot less than you are looking for, but I remember reading that earlier Christians fasted on the Sabbath and then celebrated Lord's Supper on Sunday.
  6. Would you say that Armenian and Middle Eastern cultures are similar or at least that the food is?
