gurgen Posted March 7, 2004 Report Share Posted March 7, 2004 I don't see how you could get a virus trough AOL messenger if you don't accept files. Someone can 'hack' you in several ways. It has nothing to do with usernames believe me. It has more to do with ip and accepting certain disguised files. But that's kiddy play, a professional hacker would probably attack you through your ports, I just don't see why on God's green earth he would want to hack you. Do you have some secret government files on your pc? Are you the FBI? The Pentagon? Microsoft? Believe me, hackers don't just go hack random people for fun. gevo27 Posted March 9, 2004 Report Share Posted March 9, 2004 sorry...i meant the AIM folder where all the files are. i didn't download aol messenger it came with netscape. netscape sucks, its slooowww/... lol.. but you can easuly uninstall the files skittle jan.. just make sure you get the main directory and not a shortcut.. lol.. if you use the uninstall program it will clean it up good.. but i dont think it will be available that way to uninstal.. not sure.. if anything go to the main directory where the file is and delete it shouldnt have any problems.. it will warn you if there is, or it might not even let you if it cntains important system files.. which it shouldnt... but i dont know too much about this.. you just gotta try a couple things.. lol... carefull and oh.. hacking.. no one will hack you.. lol. and if they do you wont even notice.. dont worry... lol.. you can get viruses though.. just watch and scan what you download before you run it - Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
