Res. 306, urging the Republic of Turkey to safeguard its Christian heritage and to return confiscated church properties to their rightful owners, reported the Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly)."This bipartisan bill reflects America's values and represents an important step towards preserving the heritage of the Armenian community and other minority communities within Turkey," stated the Legate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church, Archbishop Vicken Aykazian in Washington, DC.Prior to today's action, the Armenian Assembly sent a letter to all Members of Congress urging a "YES" vote.
