Next year, on Aug. 31, 2018 William Saroyan will be back in Fresno for his 110th birthday, walking around in his house, talking to visitors, and even making jokes.

This is not an illusion, but a real and ongoing project crafted by the Intellectual Renaissance Foundation (IRF).

IRF acquired Saroyan’s house in Fresno in December 2015 and announced the idea of turning the author’s childhood home into a completely renovated space, called the Saroyan House Project. The exterior renovations have already been finalized; by the end of September City Hall’s permit for interior adjustments is expected, and the internal remodeling will begin.
