Yervant1 Posted September 13, 2014 Report Share Posted September 13, 2014 CONFERENCE AT UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN TO MARK GENOCIDE CENTENNIALFriday, September 12th, 2014http://asbarez.com/126928/conference-at-university-of-nebraska-lincoln-to-mark-genocide-centennial/A view of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campusLINCOLN, Nebr.--On the occasion of the Centennial of the ArmenianGenocide, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) is hosting a two-dayconference on March 19-20, 2015, entitled "Crossing the Centennial:The Historiography of the Armenian Genocide Re-Evaluated," thatwill examine the latest developments in the historiography of theArmenian Genocide.The conference, organized by Prof. Bedross Der Matossian from theDepartment of History at UNL, is co-sponsored by the Harris Centerfor Judaic Studies, the National Association for Armenian Studiesand Research (NAASR) in Belmont, Mass., and the Society for ArmenianStudies (SAS) in cooperation with the Department of History, the HumanRights and Humanitarian Affairs Program, and the Institute of EthnicStudies at UNL.Twenty-two scholars from Armenia, Cambodia, Canada, Holland, Hungary,Israel and the United States representing 17 different academicinstitutions are going to take part in the conference. The conferencewill focus on four themes that had been previously under-researchedbut which in recent years have gained more scholarly attention andanalytical depth. These themes are Humanitarianism and HumanitarianIntervention in the Armenian Genocide, Women and Children in theArmenian Genocide, Comparative Dimensions of the Armenian Genocide,and the Impact of the Armenian Genocide.
