WORLD TO JOIN ARMENIANS IN 2015: "ARMENIAN CAUSE" FRENCH OFFICE INITIATIVES

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS: The official events dedicated to
the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will launch in France
from January 2015, representative of "Hay Dat" (Armenian Cause) French
office representative Murad Papazyan told Armenpress stressing that
the events in Europe and in the whole world will enable to divide
the struggle history into two parts - "before 2015 and after 2015".

"The year of 2015 will be very significant both in France and in other
countries of the world. The projects will be implemented on high level
everywhere. It will be a very bad year for Turkey, because the public
opinion and authoritative personalities will join us in all countries
and it will cause high trouble in Turkey. Beginning from January 2015
official initiatives will launch - publications, showing of films,
release of articles and reports, exhibitions in municipality halls. On
April 24, the President of France will come here. He is the first
president that has announced about that. Presidents of Europe and
different countries of the world will most probably join him. Great
results are expected," Murad Papazyan noted.

According to him, the strategy of putting pressure on Turkey should
be in the core place in the initiatives. "We should work in such
a sophisticated way that Turkey realizes it has no other way but
recognizing the Genocide," stressed the interlocutor.

In his words, the French society is one of the most competent ones
related to the topic of the Armenian Genocide. And it is the result
of many years-long work of the French-Armenian community.

"We exerted big efforts to make our cause hearable at president's
level. Francois Hollande is the first president that has participated
in the Genocide commemoration ceremony organized by the French-Armenian
community," Murad Papazyan said, adding that it is already 2 years
that the topic of the Genocide is included in the textbooks of high
school pupils in France. "Hay Dat" French Office has participated
in the content design of the text, specialists have worked with the
Education Ministry of France for many years, he stated.

PARIS CITY COUNCIL PASSES RESOLUTION ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

The Paris City Council unanimously passed a resolution concerning the
hundredth anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Nouvelles d'Armenie
reports.

The resolution was submitted to the Board by the Deputy Mayor for
memory and veterans Catherine Vieu-Charier and Deputy Mayor for
international relations and Francophonie Patrick Klyugman.

The resolution calls on the City of Paris, in cooperation with the
Republic of Armenia, the Coordination Council of Armenian Organizations
in France and Armenian organizations of Paris to celebrate the 100th
anniversary of the Armenian Genocide through projects aimed at raising
awareness about the Armenian Genocide and at preventing its denial.

The resolution also calls on the Mayor of Paris to visit Yerevan in
the framework of the activities that will be organized by the Republic
of Armenia in 2015 on the commemoration of Armenian Genocide.
