So it all depends on the price and what company made the board (brand). I am guessing anything around $150 or less is a good price but this hightly depends on the brand (and other options such as 3D glasses) too. That card is a great 3D gaming card but it will also do very good in 2D (normal windows). 512->1Gig is overkill I think. I did it on my PC when memory was VEYR cheap and I rarely use more than 256MB .. only if I run linux and windows at the same time or do some very complicated simulations do I ever get even close to 500MB. I can't imagine right now you needing more than 512 MB ram ... The problem is, if you buy more RAM, and you don't use it, it is simply wasted ... RAM is something that after a certain point it becomes useless and just sits there If you use windows 2000 or XP, go to task manager and look at the "performance" (you can get there using ctrl-alt-del) It shows exactly how much memory you are using.
