Aaron
MayjaWhat kind of music do you guys listen to in Lithuania, is it Russian music or anything American passes too? What do you play at parties, techno, hip hop or dance, and in what language are they (even though the language is not that important in music).I remember that when I was in Armenia any song was good for a party, a lot of nice russian songs. Finally have you ever danced to the traditional lithuanian music and is it similar to russian.I know its a lot of questions but I have to impress someone that came from Ukraine, I believe its pretty similar to Lithuania.By by! Number of people is not 70 , it is much more.. There is alot of music styles popular here... Me, personally, i dont like nor American nor Russian music. We listen to Daft Punk, for e.g. Blur, Amon Tobin, Kid Loco, Avant Garde, Air, ......etcDear Aaron, dont think that we differ much from other nations... Music of all kinds is popular here. ok. american and Russian are not popular in Lithuania, we rather listen to European pop, than American...I remember that when I was in Armenia any song was good for a party, a lot of nice russian songs. Finally have you ever danced to the traditional lithuanian music and is it similar to russian.Yes, ..i danced, but its no as cool as hungarian... I am hungarian by origin )I know its a lot of questions but I have to impress someone that came from Ukraine, I believe its pretty similar to Lithuania.By by! Lithuania is Baltic state, we speak Lithuanian which is Baltic language..Its more similar to Latvian, but nO WAY SLAVIC!!!! traditional clothes and music is as different from Slavic as it can be! Lithuania is not friendly to Russian music and to Russian at all, though we speak russian, cos we were unmercifully occupated by Russian...Please, Aaron never compare Lithuania with Russians..we even dosnt look like Russians.. thanks for questiom... Where are u from? What do u know about Lithuania?
Aaron
Mayja I worked for a Hungarian woman for 4 years, she wouldn't stop talking about her country (even though she hasn't been there for almost 50 years). She is an artist (painter) so I also heard her speak about hungarian culture and specially (god knows how many hours) about Hungarian dance which I saw pictures and the amazing uniforms.Sorry for not knowing that you guys are not in super good terms with "the bear" (russia). As I said american music dominates in north America and rarely we hear European music, but party music is party music and I suppose you guys have as much fun as us on weekend nights.where i am from?now i'm writing from Montreal Canada, but originally I come from a mix of Armenia and Lebanon. What i know of Lithuania?I must admit that i don't know much about your country (I know about Hungary), but the impression i had since i was a child was a country where people danced with red and white traditional clothes in big woden houses and girls had long blond hair with white skin, you know like in a fairy tale. I will read a little documentation and come back with new weapons. Meanwhile, if my impressions were wrong please correct me and teach me about Lithuania. Kazza
I didn't really know what you guys were talking about. But daft punk is an animated pop-group, isn't it? Is it that funnny oriental style animation with funny huge watery purple eyes? Anyway.
Pilafhead
Kaz, What do you mean "animated pop group"??? Aren't Daft Punk just a pair of French guys who do retro electronic music? Mike
Kazza
Hi Pilafhead.. I haven't seen you for a long time!! What have you been up to? What I was referring to groups like gorillaz. I don't know about daft punk, but I just saw their music being played along to a cartoon once on an MTV channel, that's all.
Pilafhead
Hi Kaz, I've been travelling alot this year. I think the second half I will be home alot more. Looking forward to blowing the dust off my oud and maybe getting a nice LOUD guitar to goof around on. Anyway, yeah, I've seen that Gorillaz video--pretty cool. I didn't know Daft Punk had a similar one. Do you like Basement Jaxx or Groove Armada? Similar groups. Mike

gamavor
http://www.mauditsfrancais.com/daftpunk/ My favorite recently french singer is IN-GRID. I think she eloquantly combines the french chanson with modernity and you can easily detect a Mediteranean flavor. Unfortunately she is not very productive - there are only three albums out there

Gams did you know that she performed at the Russian Bear last year? We should've gone-- only $75/ table i believe

Vanetsi
You are kidding me, right??? IN-GRID in Houston??? In "Russian Bear"???? I was just as shocked as you are, especially since it's such a tiny venue. But she was there! There are the pictures and the autographs on the walls of the Russian Bear to prove it.
