ARMENIAN CHEESE AND WINE IN MOSCOW

As Yerevan’s Marketing Support Program office of US Department of Agriculture (USDA) informed, in August-September exhibition-tasting-sale of Armenian cheese and wines took place in Moscow.

 

 

The first large-volume sale of cheese conducted Lori marz’s ‘Village group’ cheese factory (17 tones of Holland brand). This company’s ‘Lori’ brand cheese, ‘Ashotsk’ cheese factory’s ‘Emental’, Eghegnadzor’s ‘Ayts’ brands and several other cheese brands of a number of Armenian cheese companies were exhibited at Moscow’s many supermarkets. It turned out that the Armenian cheese can have quite a demand in Russian market. So there is a real possibility of expanding the export of Armenian cheese.

 

 

The production of Armenian wine plants (about 45,000 bottles), which function with support of USDA, was also exhibited in Moscow- and put on sale in special pavilions of 12 big supermarket’s of Russia’s capital. Tasting of the wines was escorted by video commercial rolls of Armenian wines, and about the exhibition-tasting was announced in several leading newspapers of Russia several days before that. In the newspapers the history of Armenian wine brewing was given, as well as information about the sorts of grapes growing in Armenia.

 

 

Armenian wines were also presented at the wine festival held in Moscow’s Hermitage garden. Both the exhibitions of Armenian wines showed that there are realistic prospects of expanding the export of Armenian wines.
