MosJan Posted September 27, 2001 Report Share Posted September 27, 2001 WEALTHY FRENCHMAN EXPLORES PROSPECTS TO START BUSINESS IN ARMENIA YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS: A wealthy French businessman of Armenian origin Allen Manukian has arrived in Armenia at the invitation of the Armenian president to join the festivities marking the 17 centuries of Armenia's conversion to Christianity. Taking the advantage the French businessmen intends also to get a first hand information about chances to launch a business in this country. Allen Manukian has arrived with his son who is the chairman of board of directors of 'Allen Manukian Company'. The father and the son have already had a series of informal meetings with leading Armenian businessmen and government officials, including trade and industry minister Karen Chshmaritian. Speaking to Armenpress Manukian however avoided from a straight answer whether he was going to start a business here, adding that it was only a ground breaking visit. But deputy trade minister Tigran Davtian was more optimistic assuring that the French businessman would pay another visit to Armenia by the end of the year, bringing with him business proposals.
