Amazing story

The FoxNews just reported that the Clinton White House staff has vandalized the equipment and the furniture of the White House just before leaving the offices. About 120 computers and keyboards have been vandalized to become nonoperational (OfficeMax has expressed readiness to donate new ones to the White House). The doors and file cabinets in the White House have been glued not to open. ****ographic pictures have been left in the White House printers, unsuitable voice messages have been left in the White House phone mailboxes.

While using the AirForce1 for the last time, when Bill and Hillary Clinton flew to New York, along with their staffs, the China and the Silver of the airplane, including the salt shakers, and the toothpaste in the drawers in the airplane bathrooms have been stolen.

Isn’t this amazing?

I heard the news again from other sources. Who was on the staff? Look at the previous boss again, and let me know if you still have questions about who might be on the staff. http://armenians.com/forum/smile.gif

Now, now. I wouldn't doubt if these sorts of things happen with every change in administration. You've got all these people with nothing to lose. What are they going to do fire them? http://armenians.com/forum/smile.gif

I'm curious to see the Wall Street Journal's take on this.

Evidently, these things are done by the lower level personnel. I can understand that this personnel of all administrations may want to sabotage to a degree the incoming administration.

But we are talking here about stealing the China, Silverware, Salt and Pepper shakers, and toothpaste from the Air Force One.

Sure you cannot fire them, and it is not worth pursuing. But it reiterates the doubts about the integrity of the previous administration.

Subject: File 6--Virus Hits White House

((MODERATORS' NOTE: The following was excerpted from a longer

article from The Washington Post)).

The following article moved on the Washington Post news wire

March 13. I confess that I expected some other CuD reader to go to

the trouble of passing the thing along, with enough comment and

criticism to pass muster with the fair-use copyright gods, so I

neglected to toss the thing your way.

Since no one else has done so, and since the on-line shriek

community has inexplicably let George Bush's vandalism of the White

House computers pass virtually unnoticed, I must submit the following

for your perusal. Readers who want the complete article will have to

visit their local (paper) library, armed with a dime to plug into the

photocopying machine, so that the Post's copyright may be properly

violated. Those of you with a social conscience will send some spare

change to Katy Graham to buy a legal copy of the newspaper.

11th-Hour Covenant: Lost Memory Computers to Gain for Bush

By George Lardner Jr.

© 1993, The Washington Post

WASHINGTON -- When President Clinton's top aides moved

into the White House in January, many of them had trouble

getting their computers to work.

That's because during the night of Jan. 19 and into the

next morning -- President Bush's last hours in office --

officials wiped out the computerized memory of the White House

machines.

This seemed like something that would occur every time the admin changed. While the above story isn't necessarily vandalism, with one "company" completely vacating for another, the workers are going to pull all kinds of crap.

Mike,

I am bringing to the attention of the forum that the United States White House personnel has engaged in theft. You are saying GW has skeletons in his closet, too.

Are we on the same page?

Did you see the winky eye http://armenians.com/forum/wink.gif at the top of my post? It was tongue-in-cheek. The quote I posted says GWB engaged in theft and vandalism--the exact things Fox News is talking about. I thought the similarity was funny in a karmic sort of way. The only reason I put the "skeletons" URL is to show the source of my quote.

Things stolen off an airplane should not surprize us; a hell of a lot worse things went on during the last eight years. The recent pardon of Marc Rich being a prime example.

You've said you're Libertarian. Don't you already question the integrity of all administrations? Bush's will have no higher integrity--just different special interest groups. "Meet The New Boss, Same As The Old Boss."

MJ it was suppose to be a practical joke. They also took out all the Ws from the keyboards. FoxNews, the most conservative right wing news source exaggerates the reality and puts a negative spin on it.

Alpha,

I can relate to the practical joke as it pertains to the W's on the keyboards, or gluing the doors and file cabinets, though I should admit - a distasteful one, regardless of which administration does it.

But the story with Air Force One doesn't look to me as a practical joke. It smells like stealing, and I don't think that it is just a spin by FoxNews.

Gayane, that people may be what you describe them to be is not a surprise, and we may recognize it. The surprise is that our own expectations may be this low, in which case, why should we not take as normal what takes place in the Armenian governmental circles?

Mike, I have indeed told you that I am more of a Libertarian as a person, than Republican. But I have also told you that I don't support the Libertarian agenda to its full extend.

I support them to a degree that I belive the Government has no business in interfering in people's personal life, and should have an extremely limited access to controlling people's personal assets. I have also told you that with all my Libertarian feelings, I strongly support the Republican agenda, which outside the scope of just one issue, which you know what it is, basically promotes the Libertarian agenda - especially since the Gingrich revolution.

Yes. I just assume that all Libertarians have a general dislike for politicians. My brother-in-law is the same as you. He's Libertarian and votes Republican. He doesn't particularly care for Bush. The agenda is close enough to his views, but he still considers Republican politicians to be rats.

You seem to actually like Bush. Maybe I'm wrong and I'm confusing your support of his administration with a liking for the actual man. It doesn't matter, that's splitting hairs and I understand your views.

My biggest issue is the environment. So I'm forced to support Democrats, if I want any realistic hope of pro-environment legislative bills. Other than that, I'm also a Libertarian. Although I do support some minimal level of social programs, so maybe I really am just a moderate Democrat.

I'm just glad Clinton's out of office. I'm SO tired of all the anti-Clinton rhetoric (as true as some/most of it may be). Let the pundits pick on someone new for awhile.

Enough of all these eshags, I regret the last time you and I discussed American politics. There's much more important and interesting stuff to spend time on at this forum. http://armenians.com/forum/smile.gif

Mike, I don't get a kick out of anything controversial surrounding the Clintons, but there is nothing new that we may come across with that would surprise me.

The story you have referenced above is the least of my problems with this "magnificent" couple, who has corrupted the American political system in an unprecedented manner.
