Is Armenia really being blockaded by Azerbaijan? http://www.Artsax.org/

From the first days of undeclared war against the Azerbaijanian people the Armenian politicians and their supporters are juggling with the word “blockade”. The goal is simple: people living far away from the Caucasus, for example in Britain, France or the USA, naturally, are very poorly informed about the geography of our region and might not know anything about the details of the frontiers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Most important thing is that the term “blockade” sounds imposing, disquieting and provokes a favorable reaction with regard to those, who are allegedly in such a situation.

Let’s first talk about the term itself. In difference to the Armenian interpretation, blockade is a military, political, economic isolation or encirclement of some given state. Pay attention, “isolation” or “encirclement”. Comparing these words with allegations that, ostensibly, Azerbaijan has imposed a blockade on Armenia, one can’t stop astonishing to what degree and how unceremoniously the Armenian experts on spreading the lies agitate the international public opinion.

Unfortunately, so far they have succeeded. There are people on the earth, including experienced and influential politicians, parliamentarians, and congressmen responsible for the foreign relations of their states ,who without having investigated the essence of the events, by false evidence, try to solve the international problems. But a blockade against Armenia doesn’t and cannot exist. To get convinced in this simple truth you need only to take any political or physical map of Armenia, pay attention to its geographic location and frontiers and to find that Armenia is not located inside of Azerbaijan. Besides, Azerbaijan doesn’t have enough forces to control the Armenian borders from all sides. From about 2200 kilometers of the Armenia’s borderline, only 996 kilometers is the border with Azerbaijan. Furthermore, 225 kilometers of this border fall to the lot of the Nakhichevan AR of Azerbaijan, where partial blockade against the population of the autonomous republic is being carried out by Armenia itself. So, there is only 771 kilometers of Armenian borderline with Azerbaijan left, and it is ridiculous to consider it a circle, which would allow to isolate the whole Armenia. I would like to note that, presently, because of occupation of some bordering Azeri territories, this figure has also diminished considerably. To close all this vastness tightly, Azerbaijan would have to have a big army of professional alpinists, since most part of this territory is impassable mountains. Obviously, Azerbaijan doesn’t have such an army.

Moreover, why Russia doesn’t complain to the blockade of its 7th army located in Armenia, and even introduces additional two divisions withdrawn from Germany to Armenia? From which “holes” is Armenia provided with millions of tons of energy supplies, raw materials, heavy arms, products and everything else? By air? No, mainly from Iran and partly from Georgia and Turkey. And it is clear to everyone but those who don’t tire themselves with elucidating the real picture and who credulously solve the problems of international politics based on the one-sided, biased information.

It hurts, that the US Congress also makes such faults and by its unjust, pro-Armenian decisions greatly damages the solution of the Armeno-Azeri conflict, sheds water to the aggressor’s mill. For thousands times the “Washington Post” newspaper is right putting the following words in its publication on March 11: “The evil coming from the Congress and reflecting on the foreign policy of the country with regard to the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan is becoming clear”. It became especially clear after the decision of the Congress on deprivation of Azerbaijan from the humanitarian aid from the US government. This will, allegedly, continue as long as Azerbaijan stops its blockade against Armenia.

But, dear congressmen, there is no blockade, it’s an invention, and you’ve been deceived. You can’t make a stern verdict based on distorted notion. Let’s call the things with their own names. Defending its territory from the aggressor, Azerbaijan imposes an ordinary ban and doesn’t allow transportation, through its territory, of the loads destined to the opposing warring party, the enemy that has occupied 20% of its territory. What are you proposing to us – to take off the ban? But it is an absurd! Would the US do that in a similar situation there in America? Does the US allow transporting strategic and other loads through its territory for Cuba, even if it is not a warring party? The answers are clear to any impartial person.

It is quite obvious that the Armenian occupants need the myth about blockade in order to conceal their aggression in Azerbaijan. But what the congressmen, who drag in shameful decisions against the Azeri people want is unclear.

AZERBAIJANI OPPOSITION SCHEMES NEW PLAN FOR RESOLVING KARABAGH CONFLICT

The Azerbaijani opposition has schemed a new plan of how to resolve the decade-long Nagorno Artsax conflict. It issued a regulation plan which says that the OSCE Minsk group, the only international mediating team, authorized to help the sides to end the conflict, has exhausted all its possibilities.

The opposition scheme proposes a new geo-political model for Azerbaijan- an alliance of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran, which also can be joined by Georgia, which will create powerful levers to pressure Armenia to agree to an option stemming from Azerbaijan's national interests.

The opposition scheme also suggests that Armenia's economic blockade should be toughened. It also calls for convening an All-Azerbaijani conference to specify the united position and plan of actions.

Iam sure that there are some educated Azeri intelectuals, but you are not one of them. Your mastery of the English language is shallow. I'm sure that you don't even realize that by your own wording, you have alienated the very audience you were trying to reach. It is not the words; It's the syntax. Now go look up syntax. Not Sin-Tax.

One would understand why, Azeri intelectuals are not participating in this amateurish propaganda game. It is demeaning. Funny thing about true intelect; Like money, you either have it or you don't. No use pretending. Personaly, I liked it better when you threatened war. I'm itching to tech you another lesson. You guys will never learn. No one will fight for you. You have to do your own fighting, and the Tatars lost everytime they tried. And next time, you will be trying to get Baku back. Union with Iran and Turkey you say. I agree. We should relocate and consolidate all the Azeris of Mongol descent in Iranian Azerbaijian so the Iranians will keep an eye on you all. The Kurds and the Talish can stay. And you would have a choice of destinations. If not Iran, Tgighistan or Lesser Mongolia.

As an insult ?

So being a Turk or compared to a Turk is an insult for you Mosjan ? What kind of remark is this ?

I just hope no Turk will say on that board, that calling him or comparing him to an Armenian would be an insult, because for sure he will have his tree warning at the same time from you... When I think Thorny has been banned for less then that...

BTW, since it concerns you, I found the need to post you the link of a masterpiece from Thorny. ;-)

Hey, I post after midnight and I'm not allways at my best form. I read something and lost my cool. So what. My comments were erroneously addresed to Mj,than sorry MJ,but I'm sure that some dagen udogh Turk got it too. What upsets me is this unequal banter. The ecumenical level of the Azeri point of view protagonists are of such low caliber, that that it demeans us to engage them. Unless, we are keeping these guys around as court jesters.

I was not for the TARC commission before, but secretly,I was hoping for something positive. The behaviour of the Turkish members of that group so disgusted me that I just figure that, those guys are the best the Turks have to offer. So once again. Low brow vs. high brow acumen. That is thre difference and that is why the Turks are afraid of us and that is why we will persevere.

Talking of acumen, I would be pleasantly surprised if Edward Demirakian can present one evidence of possessing acumen, at least between his inhaling sessions, since I, for one, cannot explain to any degree the mess that takes place in his head.

By the way, his last post reminds me his story of the sharks eating Armenian victims of genocide in the “ancient Sassoun.”
