MosJan
If the Russian navy ever runs out of resources completely, perhaps it can retrofit a fleet of Lada Niva 4x4s to serve as a last-ditch coastal defense force. I mean, if a bunch of regular guys can jury rig one to run fully submerged, we're sure the military could gin up some kind of armed variant. Short of that, however, we think we're sold on the apparent toughness of the Niva. Stripped of extraneous interior trim, instruments, and other accessories, the white example shown here was fitted with a homebuilt snorkel system and driven into, under, and out of a lake's murky waters. Why? Who cares? This looks like fun, which is reason enough as far as we're concerned. Follow the jump for video of the whole crazy thing. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/13/lada-ni...s-way-off-road/

MosJan
SIp it's 96 Challenger 1800, don't even know what engines it has / but it's fast i wasn't looking for a boat, was looking for a jet boat to use for lake fishing, this one was available at the good price don't have no pics for it. PS. for anyone that would like to buy a boat find a good friend who owns one was always told not to get in to boats, to stay the &^%& away from them... but no i had to see it my self my first one is a 1986 that gave me sooooo much problems that it's unbelivebul, it will be back in the marina by the end of the week, and that's if everything gos ok, last 4 mots - new engine + work on outdrives + re-upholstering interior + +++++++ now it's at the boat yard getting it finle works on it bottom paint it should be ready by Saturday
Sip
SIp it's 96 Challenger 1800, don't even know what engines it has / but it's fast ... Nice! That thing probably has 2 engines in it, right? With twin jets? I think that one should be around 200HP but with the 2 motors, I can imagine it can take off like crazy from stop. My guess is these are the older 2 cylinder rotax engines but I really don't know much about the old ones. Mine is a single 3 cylinder rotax engine but it is supercharged. It is very light so I could probably beat you in the first few seconds ... my guess is on the top end, you will probably overtake me in straight speed ... especially in slightly choppy conditions. Are you going to take it out in salt water or just lakes? Has it ever been in salt? I have to get things ready again to go hit up Lake Powell in August. This will be my 4th year straight if I go.
