Mille mercis, Louise, your website is excellent. I'm also interested in folktales. I can read French, so, yes, if possible can you point me in the direction of the other articles Nos 77, 75, 68.

And in another answer to my prayer, there will be an exhibition in London of postcards collected by Orlando Calumeno and published by Osman Köker, and also artefacts, maps. videos, etc of Armenians in Turkey 100 years ago. You've probably seen them in Paris.

thank you Moogey, I live in France but not in Paris, and I cannot travel. But I have two beautiful books of photos :

ARMENIE : Trésors de l'Arménie ancienne.

L'ARMENIE D'ANTAN, l'Arménie à travers la carte postale ancienne. Par Yves Ternon et Claude Kebabdjian 28,50 euros (HC Editions)

it is the book of the exposition.

As to my articles they have a number before each one (I found the URL only for one)

I selected these for you:

208 La cuisine arménienne illustrée

198 Histoire de Sebastia

177 Quand vas-tu grandir ?

68 Le sort des Arméniens au début du 20ème siècle, is not about custums, it’s from a book published in Boston

in1924, the memories of General Antranik. In most occasions, the Armenians used to sing the song.

20 L’art ancestral de la broderie

Great job for you !

Concerning the tales, in my website "louise.choisy" you will find "contes" which are armenian tales that I have translated in French from a book

of sovietic armenia, the tales were in the dialect of Mush. An Armenian called "Pensee" used to go from village to village and listen to the tales

told by one of each village in winter evenings before all the people of the village, Armenians, Kurds, Turks and others.

It must have been a monumental task for you. Have you seen the book Armenian Folk Tales and Fables by Charles Downing (1972)? Sona Svetlian, who now lives in the US, wrote down folk tales from Musa Ler.

No, I have not seen that book. My daughter found only those 2 volumes in the Armenian Bookshop of Paris: "Hrant Samuel"

31, rue Monsieur le Prince.

Effectively, it was a too difficult work for me, I could not translate all the tales in French, only about a dozen.

Now she tells David de Sassoun in French. It is already translated by a professor.

My translations of armenian tales are in my website: http://perso.orange.fr/choisy/index.htm/
