Arpa
ՆՈԽԱԶ-Scapegoat --- Editorial; In another thread- Language, we have been talking about “nokhaz/ՆՈԽԱԶ/ scapegoat. We have a Subject Topic of Religion. Maybe we need another category of ETHICS. In High School, a primarily Christian institution, we had many non-Christian classmates, be they Muslims, and even Jews. We had a period of “religion” where the instructors were mainly Christian Missionaries, but at that period the class was divided into two, one for “(Christian) religion” and the other-"ëthics”. ”religion”maybe subjective but ëthics” is objective and universal. Surprise! Surprise! Muslims and other religious groups have their own “ Code of Ethics“ which, at times may seem to be counter to our perception.. We also saw that nokhaz/նոխազ is a male goat. ----- ՆՈԽԱԶ- scapegoat. See that all the scapegoats, sacrificial lambs, oxen, doves etc. and other animals are always the least sinful and most peaceful of them all. We never offer in sacrifice such predators as lions, wolves, snakes, alligators, crocodiles …and… vishaps/dragons . Jesus was the ultimate model of a scapegoat/nokhaz/նոխազ, sacrificial lamb, Since then many have emulated Him, Gandhi, MLK, Mandela et al. Jesus was (non-violent) “revolutionary”in his own way. Even though He said- Matt.5[17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil . The powers to be of the day who were stooges of the Romans knew exactly what he meant that His message was a peaceful revolution to “destroy“ the cult of an unforgiving, vindictive and warlike god to a loving, forgiving and peaceable God.. Hence, He being the least sinful of them all was made a scapegoat and sacrificed. Remember the passage- John.1[29] The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world- 29Հետեւեալ օրը նա տեսաւ Յիսուսին, որ գալիս էր դէպի իրեն, ու ասաց. «Ահա՛ Գառն Աստուծոյ, որ վերացնում է աշխարհի մեղքը։ In the vulgate Armenian version the quote is=… Ահա Աստուծոյ Գառը որ աշխարհի մեղքը կը վերցնէ: Edited June 9, 2009 by Arpa
