Guest
Iranyar joon hi again, Ahura's "hur" meaning the "fire" in Armenian was just my guess, which I know now was wrong. Thanks for the information. However I still think fire ment a lot to Zoroastrians. Sure, they didn't just worship the fire, Zoroastrizm is a lot more developed universal spiritual idea than just idol worshiping. I've read that at the time when Zoroastrizm was developing among the arian nations, Jesus went through his era of "Sun" (the fire). Have you heard of it? Guest
Berj jan hrde is a word which in Armenian means fire, this word is indeed probably related to the Avestan hvar which means or is related to sun. xwor, xowr or xor is persian word related to the Avestan hvar, but the persian use xorshid for sun and shid is something like shine shining etc... the armenian word arel, which means sun, looks more like a verb than noun, it's either related to the root är'of aryan people, because before the zoroastrianism the aryan nations, whorshipped sun as one their (upper)God, so the love for light has allways been part of the culture of the aryan nations! or is the root "ar" in arel directly related to the Avestan hvar. also another word of fire grak has an ancient root. ak is an ending that was also found in the Pahlevi language (middle west Iranian) but the new Persian and Kurdish lost it. The fire in north Kurdish is aghri and in south kurdish is ager, is related to pahlevi atur and Persian azer and atesh. add a to grak then see ak separately then you see the root agr, this should have been the ancient root for fire. I honestly think that Armenian has more preserved the ancient Iranian roots, than Persian.these seem plausible, although I must say I'm not linguist. please tell me about the era of Sun, I know that the teachings of Zarathustra and Jesus Christ have been similar, but I don't know about era of Sun. Guest
Berj jan, Iranyar joon, I have always said that I would be a Zoroastrian if I wasn't already a Christian. Iranyar good for you in clarifying the misconception that Zoroastrians worship fire. That is like saying Christians worship a cross. The cross is a symbol of Christ, but we don't worship it, rather Jesus himself. So to is fire a symbol of the purity of Ahura Madza, the creator God. Khoda Bozorge!
